Did anyone else have problems on....

Mission Space at Epcot? Well, I went on all the rides, was a real trouper! Had no problems until we hit Mission Space! We had gone on Test Track just prior, and it was great fun! Next Mission Space! Well, I looked at the sign that warns of motion sickness, but a lot of the rides and attractions have that and they were not a problem for me. Of course the disembodied voice kept telling us to keep our heads straight, don't look down, close your eyes, etc. They gave us ample warning and ample opportunity to get off. In fact, just before loading, a number of people took advantage of that opportunity and followed a worker out! I should have gone with them! Oh, well. I HATED it from the get go! I thought my head was goind to explode! Actually, I was still o.k. and was able to carry out my "command" as I was the pilot. I pushed the button on cue, but at some point I must have looked down or closed my eyes or something, because as the ride wound down I was sooo dizzy and overwhelmed by nausea! When the ride stopped my BF kept asking me if I was o.k. and I said NO! He put me in a place where air was blowing (a fan of some sort) but I was sooo disoriented! I told him I was going to be sick but he didn't believe me. I told him to give me a bag (that they conveniently place in front of you, which should have been a warning to me!) and proceeded to be sick! A worker escorted us into a utility closet with a sink but I wasn't sick anymore.

We wound up leaving Epcot! We had planned to stop to eat and BF was very hungry! We went to a fast food place outside of Disney. I couldn't even get out of the car! Just as he came back with the food I knew I was going to lose it! And I did! Right there in the parking lot!

Then I felt okay but, even now, thinking about the ride, makes my stomach very very queasy!

MS makes my DH feel very sick. He doesn't like it at all. My kids (8 &10) like it and I could definitely do without it.

Ive only been on it once on a soft opening before it opened... my mom skipped out on it, my brother, dad and i went on even though the warnings scared the heck out of me but we al had a wonderful experience!

I rode it for the first time this past trip and I do not do rides that spin. I practically get sick on the Carousel. I was really on the verge of bailing at the last chance to bail cue but saw this guy get off who had to be in his late 80's and though......heck, if he can do it and live, I have got to give it a try.

So....I followed the head back, eyes open and no looking any where but the screen. Even pushed my buttons...(didn't look at them directly though,LOL)
I was totally fine and loved it! Even rode it again right afterwards with my mom. It was her first time and she gets motion sick easy but I told her she would be fine.......She wasn't she didn't need the bag, but felt crappy afterwards. She said never again.

I never felt like I was spinning and the darn warnings were scarrier than the ride itself, I thought. I think it is definitely a do once ride. My DS who is 7 rode it this time twice and loved it too.

Me and DW rode it for the first time in Dec. Needless to say, afterwards, she had to sit down for literly 2 hours. I of course could not sit and rode TT. She was fine after that. It seems the first time we go to Epcot, she gets sick WE are destined for her not to get sick this trip...

I get motion sickness very easily. I can't do Star Tours or Body Wars. So I let my cousin and brother (who only mildly gets motion sickness) go first and then I would decide whether or not to go on. When they got off my brother said he didn't feel very good and he said he felt queasy for about half an hour after. So I decided not to go on. Now my DFi who loves any and all rides made me promise to go on with him this December. I decided to try it out but it'll be the very last thing I do that day! I hope I just feel queasy and not actually get sick. That'll be awful! I'm so sorry you had such a bad reaction to MS. Maybe I'll stock up on some Dramamine before this trip.

My brother said the same thing. He said one of the reasons he thinks he felt so bad is because all of the signs and warnings made him so nervous! Maybe I'll buy some ear plugs and walk through the line with my eyes closed too. That would be a sight.

That is not a bad idea! I do think your mind works against you on this ride if you've never been on it. Watching all those pics of the simulator spinning round and round and hearing all the warnings. I swear I was on the verge of being sick before I even got on. All was fine though.

I swear if you keep the head back and no looking side to side or closing your eyes at all, you really should be fine. Star Tours can make me queasy and to be honest Soarin even got me a little blah, the second time I went on it, but MS I was fine.

My dh and my two boys 7.5 and 6.5 went on it and they had no problems. The older son doesn't really like intense rides, but wanted to try it because he's obsessed with rockets, space etc. Luckily they all had a great time
I never really had the desire to go on it though

Normally I can ride anything without ill effects but this did leave me dizzy for a good 30mins after. Guess I just wasn't supposed to be an astronaut

I can ride anything without getting sick, but MS did it for me !! I didn't need the bag (thank goodness!!), but I could not ride anything else that day. I even followed the 'eyes straight ahead, head back against the headrest and do not look away from the screen' rules!! Ellen's Energy Adventure even made me queasy after riding MS!!! But, my sister, who cannot ride ANYTHING, decided that "since it is at WDW, I have to ride it!" She was fine. And she gets motion sickness very easy!! Later that night at the hotel, when I was laying in bed, I felt like I was still on MS. Once was enough for me (I can't imagine EVER getting back on it again) but my sis can't wait to take her daughter on it. I'll be sitting outside waiting and people watching!!

YES! MS made me so queezy I had to sit down for about an hour. When I got off I kept walking into the wall on the hallway that leads from the ride. I was seriously dizzy! After sitting and just being still for awhile I did feel better, but I don't think I will ever ride it again. My family all enjoy it and I felt a little silly that I seemed to be the only one stumbling around like I had been drinking. Oh well, there are plenty more rides I do enjoy so I don't mind sitting this one out.

Count me as another who will never do MS again! I didn't puke or anything, but I was dixxy and enerally sick feeling for a good hour afterwards. I, too, was never meant to be an astronaut!

We just got back last night. We rode on it probably 4 or 5 times. No problems. We love it. But, some people do certainly have a bad reaction to it. Hope you had a good time for the rest of your trip though.

This sounds utterly miserable. I get vertigo very easily--sometimes, even tilting my head back will bring it on. I would never, never ride any simulator ride because it would put me out of commission for the rest of the day. Sorry MS ruined your good time. And thanks for the warning

I love rides... al kinds and I can usually handle spinning, maybe I am getting old

But this ride got me.... I kept thinking at the end, that if we go back to Earth I am going to vomit every where. To me they pushed it as far as they could. I did get hot and felt like I might lose it but I didn't.

The ride is really cool and I am glad that I expeirenced it but I do not think I would do it again... I also guess this is why there is not wait for the ride.... some people only do it once and then say never again.

My Dh and dd10 and dd16 and I rode ms and they loved it, I on the other hand was reading those same signs about motion sickeness and spinning nad thinking do I really want to do this. Well I did it against my better judgement because I didn't want to be left out when my family was riding ms for the first time and did not feel well at all afterwards, I did not throw up but was really nausous. The rest of my family loved it.
