Did anyone else get this letter from the Veteran's Administration?

We've had a lot of alerts placed on files at the credit bureau I work at due to this. I think it's a good idea.

I just wanted to thank those who offered information about how we can protect ourselves. I will get on those things first thing tomorrow morning.

I also want to thank those who filled in the blanks of how this came about. The letters didn't go into detail about that, and I've not seen the news in quite some time. I am shocked that an employee had the ability to take all our personal information home. It's beyond belief really!

DH and I are both worried that we are going to get that letter. Thankfully we havn't yet. But I have been watching the mail like a hawk.

That is our story too. Waiting for a letter, and hoping not to get one.
I was also wondering. How long does the fraud alert stay on credit files through the credit bureaus? I placed an alert on ours approx three years ago when our house was broken into. Just wondered if this is something I need to update.

DH and I got that letter, too. It said for the spouses to watch their credits. Ya....I'd love to, but I already pulled my credit reports this year. Who's paying for the credit reports I have to pull now? Plus, pulling them now is pointless since any activity won't be reported for a few months.

They said to put fraud alerts with the reporting agencies. Did anyone do that yet?

I've been notified by Fidelity Investments, who administers my pension, and Hotels.com that my information might have been compromised. This after being very careful about who obtains the information in the first place.
