Did anybody else actually have a "good" Christmas?

Yup, we had a great Christmas!!! My 14 month old son was sick, he had roseola, so he was pretty cranky and fussy and just wanted to be held by me all day, but that was okay becasue I didn't have to do anything else! We spent the day at my folks house and they did all the work! Also my DH took four days, the first time he has ever taken time off at christmas, so we could really relax and not have to rush around anywhere! The whole weekend was great! Sat and Sunday we pretty much stayed home the whole time.

We had a wonderful Christmas, too. I didn't get to start Christmas shopping until the weekend before Christmas because I had worked nights and weekends since Thanksgiving, and money was tight anyway. I didn't get to do a lot of things I had planned to do but decided not to sweat the small stuff. We don't go overboard on gifts, mostly practical things with some silliness thrown in (always) and stocking stuffers.

My dad had a stroke in February, and my mom had orthopaedic surgery in July with complications, and I am thankful that I still have them. My son is a police officer, and his sgt. let him off early Christmas Eve, so we were able to go to church together. My mom and dad, my son, my daughter and I had a relaxing breakfast together, and Christmas evening I cooked dinner for everyone. My son's precious fiancee joined us, too.

It was a lovely day!
