we had a wonderful christmas. the older i get, the better they get.
I hope things improve soon for you. I'm so sorry to see people going through a rough time.Me!!! I always have a fantastic Christmas. My family is amazing and I love being with them. I have as much fun buying presents as I do receiving them and I think I could get a bag of plastic grocery bags and I'd be happy. The only thing I wish for was that more of my family could have been there, but we talked to all of them and I can't wait until next year![]()
This part made me laugh. My SIL gave us our gifts in those reuseable cloth grocery bags this year. I thought it was just a great idea. She had one sack for each person. And it helped that her gifts this year didn't suck. (She has come up with some doozies, including ginsu knives and bamboo steamers.)
Christian got several toys this year which he has just LOVED> Unusual, because he's usually standoffish with new things. We just enjoyed laying around in jammies watching TV. I did get dressed before dinner.
. We miss our DS deployed to AFG., but we're also praising God he is safe and rec'd all our BD & C'mas cards and pkgs brightening his day.

We had a nice quiet Christmas. We always have a low country boil on Christmas eve and attend the candlelight communion service. This year it was just us and DD16 & DS14. Christian doesn't really *get* Christmas, so he mostly helped Dad pull all the tissue paper out of the gifts.Christian got several toys this year which he has just LOVED> Unusual, because he's usually standoffish with new things. Then last night DD16 hosted a small sleep-over with her BFFs. I found them all flaked out in the living room under the Christmas tree this morning. Favorite pizza joint for lunch. Now watching HGTV and chillin'. No fighting, no racing to inlaws, no enduring football, belligerant alcoholics or unruly pets. Just a nice slice of heaven with our kids.

Wow, I think there must be at least a dozen negative Christmas threads on the first page alone.

So much of this could be avoided if people just took the initiative to change what it is that's making them so unhappy.. Bottom line is you can't change others - you can only change yourself and how you react to others..
