I've always wondered why Diane Disney has never spoken out against the current Disney Company leadership, and its recent practices.

From what I see, only Roy Jr. has spoken out over the years. The only one who has diligently fought for Walt's and Roy's company.

I would think Diane and the other remaining family members, would also feel extremely passionate about this. But, so far nothing has ever been said.

Diane was on the losing side in 1984. Her husband was the CEO of Disney in the early 80's. He didn't do the greatest job, although some would argue he was in the process of turning the company around. The company was on the verge of being bought up when Roy, Stanley, and the Bass Brothers came to the rescue. They pushed Diane's husband out the door and replaced him with Eisner/Wells. Since then, the Walt side of the family has not been involved in the operations of the company.

--->Both Diane and her husband have an unfailing love for the Disney vision. Ron was hurt...and that did effect Diane....but with the passage of time...and Roy's interaction...they both still want nothing but the best (read closeest to Walt's Dream) for the company. And they do not endorse a takeover.

Actually, about a year ago, there were rumblings that Diane and her sister (whose name escapes me) were starting to make noise. It may be that they helped put a fire under Roy E.

Incidently, if anyone can find the old thread I'd really appreciate it. I know The DScoop had a lot to say in them.

I thought Diane is the only surviving Walt Disney daughter. Didn't her sister pass away some time ago?

From http://www.savedisney.com/faq/answers.asp#10

Are Walt's daughters still involved with the Disney Company?

No. Sharon Disney Lund died in 1993. Diane Disney Miller owns and operates the Silverado Vinyards in Northern California with her husband Ron. She is actively involved with the Walt Disney Family Museum website.

For all of Roy's past efforts and recent determinations, he has truly earned the right to stand side by side, next to his father Roy and uncle Walt.

Much kudos to him.

Hmm, interesting, I could have sworn that there was talk of Sharon although maybe it was a Grand daughter?
I won't comment on it beyond that there was talk about it.
As far as what save Disney says. That just keeps her out of the limelight. that doesn't mean they aren't involved behind the scenes. They do afterall own significant shares.

Are there any of the grand children or great-grand children involved with the company? I would hate to see the family's involvement with the company end with Roy.

YoHo,

Are you thinking of Abigail? That is Roy's wife.
