Diamond Parking Pass

Does the Diamond Parking pass have an expiration date on it? thinking about buying 1 ticket to get 1.

I just picked mine up at the AAA office last week with my travel documents. It does have "Validity Dates", which cover the dates of my stay.

Also note that the Diamond Parking Pass is NOT free parking if you are not staying on Disney property. It is simply closer parking. If you are on property, it's free, but you also need your Resort Parking Pass. If you are staying off property, then I believe you still pay.

AAA does not sell Diamond Parking Passes. They are given to members. Depending on the policy of each office, they can be given to any member, or only to those purchasing tickets or vacation packages through them.

According to the OP's post, they were going to buy 1 ticket (assume from AAA) in order to get the pass. It does not say they were going to purchase the pass itself.

OP its also been reported that not all AAA offices will give you one just for buying tickets.

Yes, I was thinking of buying 1 ticket to get the parking pass. We are AP holders so do not really 'need' a ticket. I did inquire at my local AAA office and they would only give out a Diamond if I bought my tickets there. Since the Diamond has an expiration date I doubt I will buy a park pass. Thanks to all for their responses.

I did inquire at my local AAA office and they would only give out a Diamond if I bought my tickets there. Since the Diamond has an expiration date I doubt I will buy a park pass. Thanks to all for their responses.

I don't think it's worth it anyway. We had one in 2010 and since we are rope drop people it wasn't really a benefit for parking. I believe but don't hold me to it that at MK we would have had better parking without using it.

It's also subject to availability we tried to use the pass at AK and the reserved lot was full

I buy at least one AAA ticket per year to get the pass, then either save it or bridge it up to an AP. Even staying on-site we prefer to drive to the parks and find it useful.

The one we were given by AAA to use on our trip last week did not have a date printed on it.

Others though have said it did. It seems like this is another one of those it depends on your local office things.

From what I have heard, that depends on the AAA office.
Many are putting short dates on to avoid people sharing or selling it.

I got one with a ticket purchase at my AAA office and I just pulled it out and couldn't find a date on the front but it did have some blackout dates for 2012 on the back. Then I realized the license plate on Donald Duck's car on the front said "2012".

Wow...this is interesting. I just looked at mine again. My pic of Donald's car also has 2012, but it does have this printed in black in the lower left corner "Package Validity Dates:" with my check-in and check out dates, and my husband's name (trip was booked under his name). On the lower right corner, it is printed in the same black print "Nontransferable. Void if sold." Then along the side of the card are the rules about blackout dates, etc. It also says that the voucher is NOT VALID for complimentary parking, etc.

I didn't have to ask for the pass, it is printed in the little book of vouchers that I got with my AAA vacation package. I booked everything but flights through them.

We also stay on property but like to use our rental car to get to/from the parks. We also plan to visit my husband's cousin one day and visit Harry Potter.
