Seems like there won't be much to do at DHS when DD and I go end of April-early May. I don't do drop rides so TOT is out of the question, love Rock n Rollercoaster. Seems like almost half of the park will be boarded up though. Is it really worth going? What's your opinion? Maybe I'll have to shell out for park hopper again.

We got there at RD in June and did RRC, TOT (ugh), TSMM, Muppets, GMR and lunch and that took until 2pm. then we went back to resort for a bit then to Disney Springs (think it was still called DTD..i don't know. haha)

I would do the hopper but that's just me. I really enjoyed the Star Wars offerings earlier this month especially the fireworks.

In terms of rides you have
Tower of Terror
Rockin Rollercoaster
Great movie ride
Star tours
Toy story midway mania

Shows
Beauty and the beast
Voyage of the little mermaid
Indiana jones

Muppet vision

Star Wars launch bay
Star Wars movie clips
Star Wars fireworks

Fantasmic

This park never really had a lot in terms of actual rides but I still like spending a half day at least there.

RNRC, TSMM, GMR, Launch Bay, One Man's Dream, Disney Jr (I think), Beauty & the Beast, Fantasmic, Star Tours, Indiana Jones, Muppets, Frozen Sing-Along, Path of the Jedi, Jedi Training

It might not be a full day for a lot of people; however, it can easily be that for some.

EDIT: Forgot Mermaid which @rteetz listed

We have a 6 day trip coming up in June. I think we are going to do one late start day at HS if we can get Toy Story FP. We have little kids, so RRC and TOT aren't priority. We will most likely do Disney Jr, Star Wars, Mermaid, etc and stick around for Fantasmic. If we had a shorter trip, we would definitely think about bypassing HS because we prefer spending most of our time at MK.

Honestly I think HS is worth it just for Fantasmic. It is such a great show. I also love TSM, GMR, Muppets, Beauty and the Beast and RnRc, and ToT, even though it scares the heck out of me!

Very little of importance to most people is closing. It just makes us look at it and realize there really never was much there to start with. I am planning a whole day there, nothing that is closing is going to effect me.

We are spending 10 days in the world in August, and are actually considering skipping DHS this year. Last year we wound up skipping AK because we slept in way late that morning, and it was an EMH morning for AK. We decided by the time we got to the park, the crowds would be insane, and since the park closes earlier than the rest, we thought it would be a waste, so we went to MK that day instead. This year about, with all of the construction, and everything that is closed in DHS, we aren't sure it is worth bothering with.

Just finishing up 2 weeks here.
3 days at DHS.....found plenty to do. We saw the fireworks show twice....it is amazing!!
Never even had time to do some of the things we wanted to.

If you have park hopper its still ok to go for shopping and the food at Prime Time, star tours still rocks us, otherwise I wouldn't waste the cost of a ticket.

Seriously,?!?!? you found 3 days worth of things to do there (other than shop)?

My guys will spend at least 2 1/2 days there. Happily riding tot and rnrc many times if possible, and star tours. I love the park and gmr. Indiana jones is an all time favorite:). Otoh we will probably just spend a day at the mk. My grown up men aren't enamored anymore.

We ate lunch and shopped a bit at Disney Springs one day and then headed over to DHS around 4. We rode TSMM, Star Tours, the Great Movie Ride and saw the SW Launch Bay. We also saw the Osborne Lights since it was December and then left at about 8. There were no fireworks at the time and we decided against Fantasmic.

If you want to meet characters or take part in sing-a-longs (we didn't) and ride some of the older rides of course it might take longer. We see DHS as a half day park even before they started closing things.

We generally give DHS a full day, ONLY because we really enjoy TSMM, and the only way to get more than one go on it without LONG lines is to be there for Rope Drop, ride standby, then use FP+ for a second go. After that, we do Star Tours, Little Mermaid, GMR, and usually see Indy, and LMA .. . . after that, we really don't do a whole heck of a lot aside from waste time until we get on line for F! Sometimes DS12 will drag DW on RnRC with him, but even doing that, there is still a ton of extra time in our day. We only stay the full day because of TSMM, and F!

DHS is the one park where we will sometimes take a mid day break!

When we went in december we had a full day there doing the following: Star Wars Launch Bay, Star Wars Path of the Jedi, Mermaid, Toy Story Midway Mania, One Man's Dream, Indiana Jones, Muppetvision (twice), Lights Motors Action, Honey I Shrunk The Kids Set, Star Tours, Great Movie Ride, Frozen Singalong, Fantasmic, Osborne Lights, and Star Wars Fireworks. Osborne lights have ended and past that by the end of April the only other things that'll be closed will be Honey I Shrunk The Kids area, Lights Motors Action (which a lot of people do like, it's always full when we're there), and possibly One Man's Dream. It's still probably doable then for a whole day, especially if you like Rock N Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror

This for us too as well as TSMM. We RD and do a few hours in am one day, then on another day hop over later with FP+.

this is so subjective, it really depends on you and your family's preference, I wrote an article about it http://***************.com/2016/01/...on-should-you-skip-disneys-hollywood-studios/
I still love the studios and could go one day just to watch the Citizens of Hollywood

We love HS. Usually spend 1/2 days there. Our favs include early lunch at either Sci Fi Dine In or 50's Prime Time. We hit the park before rope drop and sometimes they let the crowd in a little early. TSMM, Star Tours (few times), Muppets, TSMM FP+, one or two shows after lunch then back to hotel for down time. We also like the shops there! Going to really miss the Osbourne Lights. Hopefully they will bring them back.
