Sorry to bring up the restaurant thing again but considering the sense of humor posted on the walls, something tells me it's Muppet-related. Which if in turn it is makes me happy because that means Muppet Vision gets to stay :D. Even though it is the oldest film on property it's still a priority for me every time and it never gets old

That's the rumor and it makes a lot of sense. If they were going to close Muppets, they would do it with all the other stuff in that area that is going to be shut down. So, looks good for Kermit and the gang. (Not so much on TV though - the show is good, but the ratings continue to drop.)

A permit was filed for electrical work at the fire works launch site looks like things are progressing nicely.

Didn't they just reboot the tv series to start all over midseason? I'm not sure how many weeks it's been since that but I don't think actual Nielsen ratings would be restored overnight considering how mixed the response was for the earlier episodes

It wasn't a full reboot they just have been trying to take it in a new direction. I haven't watched since the restart.

Ok that statement was very confusing. Am I the only one that found it a bit confusing?

Well, the sentence structure could have been better but I understand what they are saying. There were some "bungalow" type buildings near the creative costuming area that the tram drove through. Those bungalows were used by production companies originally and subsequently by DHS administrative types, who have now been moved to other locations.

Yes how OKW lover clarified is what I meant to say. I need to stop posting on the fly without proofreading.

Anyways, after the studio aspect left the studios the old production bungalows turned into administration offices for both the park and company in general. All of the occupants were relocated in he past two months to various areas. In the original link you can see the 4 bungalows at he top of he image next to creative costuming.

Stupid question, were the bungalows used for feature animation before they got a whole new building in 1998? I'm only asking because I saw a video that shows them moving into this "annex" in 1994 and it looks exactly like the bungalows and I know around that time they were growing and you really couldn't animate something on the scale of Mulan in that small space in the tour building and production wasn't as hot to keep all four bungalows for live-action. I'm just asking because when I saw the video I asked myself "What building is that? That looks like one of the bungalows". This is the video:

That's a backstage area with what appears to be a power station and a water filtration center. Wonder if they actually are expanding past tower of terror

Possibly with new backstage areas but no new guest areas are supposed to go that far.

Another Hubbard Construction permit for demo of a backstage building near animation courtyard.

You are reading more into this then is actually there. The permit is for "back of house" work which could be demolition, but it could also be other things. As the for location, we don't have very good information on the street numbers for that area. The number put's it further from Cat Canyon then the previous permits (and thus closer to animation), but it may not actually be near the animation courtyard. Not saying you are wrong, but we do need to be careful not to read to much in to what the permit says since they are pretty vague.

I assume you are getting that from putting the 621 Cypress address into Google Maps. Mapping sites often do not have accurate information about in park addresses. If you search for anything between 450 Cypress and 1200 Cypress it will put you at that exact same location on the map.

Yep, I was just following what those on wdwmagic were saying about the address of the permit. They expected it to be near animation courtyard.

No that isn't a bungalow. Much to big. It looks like another backstage building that is referred to as operations 2. Located to the north of the parking garage.

That doesn't surprise me. It's actually funny how inaccurate those maps are when it comes to parks

Ok. So that specific building is operations 2?

It looks like the building that is named that today yes. But I cannot confirm it for sure for its been a long time since I've been there.

Ok, gotcha. I was always a fan of Florida feature animation so whenever I saw that I couldn't help but ask myself where was that building

The other overhead showing the dismantling of the catastrophe Canyon is also interesting. Wondering what exactly they plan to use the space for, as it's sort of in the back corner. I just figured they were going to mothball it.

That will be construction staging as the access road will also be in that area.
