DHS Ceremony locations??

Ok so I haven't posted on the dis in like forever, but I read all the time. And I have been literally looking for 3 days to find the answer to my question but I can't so I am gonna go ahead and ask you experts.

I have heard it's possible to have a GMR reception. But that is totally out of the budget. Wonderful though. We are having a very small Wishes Wedding like Hopefully only 10 ppl including us, but probably 15, yea I know crazy, but it was either that or about 150.

We are both filmmakers and LOVE DHS (always MGM to me though).

Has anyone ever asked about a ceremony there. I know it would have to happen after the park closes. And you'd have to use disney floral. But does anyone have an idea of what type of site fees and minimums there might be

You should call the disney wedding line and ask about that. I've heard rumors that it's possible, but don't know for sure.?

i want to call and talk to them. But we are aren't looking to book until January or February so I don't think they'll talk to us yet, right?

I know I saw on something Disney sent me about theme park weddings included the great movie ride, and the muppet courtyard!

I read it to late to book mine though... I LOVE the muppets!!!! That would definately be something your guests would never forget!

Ooh I've read her TR before and chatted with her about her ceremony-it sounded exquisite at the GMR! I believe she did custom fireworks at DHS for this event as well-I remember seeing the video.

You should definately get in touch with her. She is very sweet and a wealth of knowledge. Come to think of it, I haven't seen her post in quite some time, but she is definately worth sending out a PM.

DHS has a lot of options for receptions, however, I am not sure if they have ceremony locations so the best place to ask is DFTW!

Our reception was held throughout MGM (ok now DHS) starting with Fantasmic for cocktail hour, RnR for a ride and some drinks and then Muppets Courtyard for dinner, dancing and a lot of surprises.

We asked about TOT, but our WC said that they don't allow anyone INSIDE tot before or after the park closes. And, since its inside a park, and like you said in the OP those are the only times you can have your ceremony (before opening, after closing). Super bummer, cuz that would have been amazing for our halloween wedding!!

On stvs's site, there is a vid of a couple who exchanged vows in the Narnia soundstage. That was really neat -- they even had fake snow falling and the scene on the big screen in the back that showed the castle in the distance.

I would say that the mins for 12 people are going to be huge on your per person fee. There are a bunch of extra staff that would be needed for the reception there. Contact your planner for more information on this location. Let us know what you find out.

How do you access the gallery for stvsweddings website? It keeps asking for a username and pw. Do you need to be a current customer to access the gallery? I would love to see the Narnia wedding.

I think the username is Blu-Ray and the password is magic (or is it ariel?)... but I could be wrong, I just have it saved... you may want to do a search for STVS, I know there's a thread floating around out there with the answer...

That was us! We had a vow renewal in Narnia last September.

One thing to keep in mind when using a venue that is not normally used is that there tend to be a lot more restrictions. Our ceremony had to be held at 8am!

You can start to work with a WC 18 months out.
