looking for somewhere to have DH's birthday dinner. He's a semi-good sport and I want something that will be fun but no TOO over the top.

Looking at Whispering Canyon.

Suggestions?
Opinions?

What kind of food does he like? Is the festive atmosphere more important than the quality of food? :earsboy:

don't want just a nice dinner, we do that a lot even at home. Want good food (he's a meat * potatoes kind of guy) but also a fun atmosphere.

Pooch,

Hello from Harwinton! I used to teach in East Granby and shop up near you!

WL is kind of over the top but fun if you are in the right frame of mind. We did lunch there and opted to kind of watch from the sidelines. The food was suprisingly good. Dinner is downright raucous from the sounds of it. (We always stay at WL.) We will be trying it this November for dinner.

A quality dinner that's fun to boot is kind of hard to come by. I liken it to restaurants with a view of the water at the shore. People come for the view NOT the food.

Enjoy your trip!

Pooch based on your response I think Whispering Canyon is a good choice. Enjoy :earsboy:
