Has anyone's DH wore something other than a suit or a tux for their wedding? As we are from the Uk I'm a bit worry about my other half passing out, he's not a fan of the heat!

My df isn't going to wear a suit. Everyone we know that has done a "destination" wedding hasn't worn one. He is just going to wear a normal white dress shirt and a tie.

I think it depends where your ceremony is when you are considering what you are wearing. If it is the WP, than it may look odd not wearing a tux. But we are doing it at SBP, and because of it's causal location, I think not wearing one suits the setting better!!

That is my opinion anyways!!

My DF wants to wear khaki SHORTS and a HAWAIIAN shirt. I put my foot down at the shorts! He will be wearing khaki PANTS and a nice white hawaiian-ISH shirt. We'll see what I buy for him!

Your DF and my DF must be related because that's what he wants too:lmao: We are getting married at Sunset Pointe so we have a casual tropical theme anyways but it's still our weddding... so I think he atleast has to put some PANTS on! Plus I don't want any tacky hawaiian shirts... certain ones are not bad though.

So far I have come up with something like this as a compromise

My DH wore something similar to what Adelia posted. We found it at H&M and loved it. Best part...he really can wear it again :)

Oh I think you could find a lot of attire that would look nice! Here's what we're doing-

My DH was originally going to do a more formal kilt outfit, but as our VR plans changed, became more tropical (VR in september instead of january, with discovery cove/disney, not just disney locations), it didn't make sense to do the suit (to heavy, too hot). After looking around we went with a black button down shirt with a black kilt (black pants would work as well- but I think there is nothing better than a man in a kilt! :)). I saw a picture online of a bride in a red dress with husband all in black, and I just loved it, so that's the route we took (and our colors are red/white/black).

His kilt just arrived and I put a pic up on my pj:

Hope that helps!

My dh wanted shorts too! OF course our ceremony was supposed to be on Castaway Cay beach.,...so it was understandable...but i still vetoed it!

That is pretty close to what we settled on. He has an Ivory Tommy Bahama shirt and some khaki linen pants. He's going to be very comfortable, but still dressy.

my husband to be is wearing Camo shirts and a white button down shirt... we are getting married on 7/4 this year and I think he will look great in it... I say let him be comfortable... he will enjoy the day more... :cool1:

My DF, Dad and Best Man are all wearing linen shirts with dark trousers. Again, the heat makes it seem silly for full on dress suits!

Our pageboy is wearing similar but he will have shorts, and a matching waistcoat :)
