Dh wants to surprise us with his resort choice.

So far I've done all the planning for our trip. We will be doing a split stay as we have friends coming down the 2nd week. The first week we will stay onsite and the 2nd week at a home in Windsor Hills.

Since I picked the rental home, have decided on restaurants etc. my dh insists he wants to pick the resort. great.... but he knows NOTHING about Disney World.

We are frequent Vegas travelers and always stay at Bellagio and Wynn. So I'm not sure if he wants to spring for one of the deluxes or if he'll be a little more budget conscience.

I think I would direct him to the www.allearsnet.com accommodations pages. They have tons of information and pictures on each and every Disney World resort. At least he'd have details on the resorts and you'd know he wasn't just picking a resort in the dark.

Good luck with that! Sounds like you'll be safe if he enjoys the nice Vegas hotels.

My value minded husband however..... Well, I'll need a little pixie dust if we're ever going to be staying at a WDW deluxe..... LOL!

Thanks for the links. I will send them his way. He never does anything halfway though so I know he'll end up researching the heck out of it and will make sure that he has the exact view he wants etc.

He seems to be obsessed with the monorail all of the sudden though. Which resorts run on the monorail?

The monorail runs to the Contemporary, the Grand Floridian, and the Polynesian. All are deluxes, and most would agree, not a bad one in the bunch. Especially compared to some others like offsite cheapies and the value resorts.

Being a guy and one that does not know much about DW I would bet he is thinking the Contemporary which has the monorail running right through it. BUT it only runs through the Tower, the main part of the hotel so if he books the Contemporary thinking to surprise you all with a the monorail running through, you may end up in a wing way out from the main section in another building completely.
If he wants to be in the at main section he is going to have to book a Tower room.
