DH wants to ditch Disney for Sea World!

I think if we go forward with our original plans to do the full WDW trip, in order to make it a pleasant experience with minimal stress and frustration we will have to accept the fact that we may only be able to do a few things at each park (even after spending all that $$$ for the trip) :scared1: and look to experiences that don't involve too much waiting and walking around like resort activities, character meals, Bippity Boppity Boutique, and the Pirates League, etc. as being just as memorable and enjoyable as the rides.

:thumbsup2

If your kids don't like watching shows, then I think WDW is the way to go. I'd also maybe skip the big parades, but make a point to see the "Move It Shake It!" one, and the "Frontierland Hoedown," where the kids can be part of the show. ;)

It is possible to do WDW in a relaxed way, but it'll be more of a challenge with little ones along. Resolving to avoid stuff with long waits and to go with the flow will definitely make it easier. Best of luck. :goodvibes

What your husband wants to do is basically what my husband talked me into doing next year. We will stay at Nick Hotel, do the character breakfast there, see all the shows we care to there (I think my kids want to see them all), play in the water park and do a day at Sea World for all of us and a day at Discovery Cove with only my oldest Daughter for her birthday present (younger two would stay with grandma at Nick Hotel and do the 4D movies). We plan on using the hotel shuttle to go to Downtown Disnay for a day of shopping and have lunch at EOS and Dh and I may sneak away for a night out and do a Disney resort restaurant for the two of us (hoping for V&A). But DH says he loves the idea of someplace with tons of entertainment on sight. I know the kids do too as they are in love with Great Wolf Lodge and with everything Nick has to offer it seems a bit like GW on steroids:rotfl2: DH found WDW to be stressful, he has a disability and needed rest times back at thehotel but maneuvering the bus system to get back an forth was long and sometimes stressful in and of itself. Therre is no way we havethe money for a monrail resort so were stuck with the busses and while DH is okay with doing it again he thinks this will be much more relaxing and a different kind of fun for the kids. I'm starting to agree.

My DH thinks it will be too stressful and frustrating as well...He is primarily concerned with navigating large crowded parks with four young children, catching buses, and long lines...However, with the promotions WDW offers it is hard to beat going down there, especially being that our kids are all under 10 now (one will be 2). We both don't want to be disappointed and frustrated to the point where we say "You know maybe we should have waited". So while we still have our WDW trip booked and continue to research and plan (that is another thing my DH doesn't like, feeling like he has to research and plan for a vacation months on end), we are still looking at some alternatives that will be best for us as a family. I think kids are resilient and flexible, if we don't do WDW it will probably be me that will be most disappointed because of the emotional factor of taking your kids to WDW; my kids would be just as happy spending a week a Chuck E Cheese . But it's not like we are never going to go, just trying to be sure we make the right choice on the timing for everyone since this would probably be our only WDW trip.
