DH was in FL on business this week.. I thought it was prime opportunity to get our AP for upcoming trip in June. He went to DD to the guest relations and was told "if you buy the AP today you are activated the same day"

well obviously this is wrong, told him so, he was hesitant...because we are planning to come back April 2006 and didn't want the AP to be inactive..

so I call main office who tell me person at DD was incorrect, I proceeed to buy AP with her but she tells me I can buy it at any Disney Store...
So i go to Disney store tonight to be informed that ALL DIS stores do not sell AP ticket.....It stopped as of Jan 05.

SO now, call DH who is on his way home & I just plain call on the phone to get AP....Wanted the # so that I could get DDE,,,but CRO said she could not give it to me..

feel like I am on a merry-go-round here..
anyone else had similar experiences...

guess I just needed to vent

Sorry about your situation. My mom has had that problem too! Well hope it all works out for you! :sunny:

They do not sell unactivated APs in DTD, only activated ones. The only place you can buy an unactivated AP from is online at www.disneyworld.com or
by calling 407-WDISNEY
Unfortunately, whoever you talked to at the main office was incorrect :(

We just bought an AP via the website and Disney emailed a confirmation with our # on it. I then called DDE and they let me use the confirmation # to get the DDE card. I told them we would be at WDW in a week and they emailed me a receipt to use until I get my card(6-8 weeks). The email is valid for approx. a month. Did Disney send you any email confirmation? If not then I would consider calling back and speaking with a supervisor.

That's right- the APs you buy at the parks or at Downtown Disney are activated immediately at purchase time.

All AP"s are activated the day you get them no matter where you get them, at least from everything I've read.

From the Disney Stores and other places you get a voucher, I think, it still has to be activated when you get to the park. I don't know if there is a "convenience" to this or not. I just got my AP's at DD Marketplace Guest Relations and it took about 10 minutes max. I didn't think the whole voucher thing really saved any time. If you get the AP at this time, they will be activated at this time.

Here's allot of info on the whole subject....

I wound up getting AP on phone... but when I called the DDE # I was told I could not order the card until my official AP card came.

so hopefully it will come within a week....and once I get it I will order DDE card but since I am going in June I might not get the card by then.

quite honestly, can't understand why dining card takes so long. makes no sense to me

well, at least I can tell DH that he was not crazy, and that they did in fact would activate his card.

which I didn't want to happen because we will be back next April but don't know the exact date & I didn't want to loose my AP for the year

You don't need to have the actual DDE card by your trip. When you call and order it, they will send you an e-mail confirmation that can be used as a temporary card. If you are planning a trip next year in May/June/July, I would wait until closer to your trip so that your card will be good longer.

I ordered my DDE on 1/24, used the e-mail confirmation for my 3/2-3/7 trip and got the actual card around 3/15. It expires 3/31/06.

thanks debbieb

funny, so may times the cro's are so wrong and my most valuable information comes right from these boards..

told my DH today the same thing when he called me from FL.....
I said.....don't buy AP, will ask on boards and we will figure it out..

thanks everyone......

your all lifesavers

In August I bought a voucher for AP from DTD and activated it in Dec.
