I need some reassurance!

DH has been in his current position for almost six years, and he just had a very strong interview with another company. The job is actually a couple of steps down in position, but a big jump in salary and benefits, plus a high potential for growth. The job is now between DH and another man with them leaning strongly towards DH. I'm kind of worried about him taking a lesser position, but it doesn't bother him at all. He says it's a lot more money for a lot less responsibility, but he has THRIVED on responsibility at his current job so I don't know what's going on in his head.

When I was growing up, people stayed with the same company pretty much for life! I know it's different today, but I just have this strong sense of upheaval -- of course, it doesn't help that other areas of my life are unstable right now.

Wish us luck.

Good luck to your DH! :goodvibes Hope he manages to get the job!

Sometimes it's necessary to take a step back to get further ahead in the long run, so this could be a good move for your DH's career. Sending you lots of good wishes and pixie dust! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I know just how you feel. When DH (GoofyDad869) announced a couple of years ago that someone he worked with was thinking of starting their own architectural firm, I flipped. Architecture is not really a field that lends to job stability and he had already moved firms a lot. In the end, I left the decision up to him and we are now part-owners in a very successful new firm.

As scary as the whole "self-employed" thing was, sometimes you just have to leap out in faith.

So far I've changed jobs about every 5 years. Same industry just either more money or better position. Sounds like it would be a great opportunity for him - even it if is less responsiblity now. The potential for growth would be a big plus in my book.

Good Luck! :cheer2:
