He has packed his suit jacket but was wondering if he needed a tie as well for Triton (Wonder)? Personally he is hoping the jacket is enough I told him he needed a tie as well ;)

I work in jeans everyday. Our 7 day cruise in January had 4 nights that were formal and I found it to be a nice change of pace to be dressed up for dinner. I would definitely take the tie and look as dapper as possible, it's worth it.

We did a 3 day and 4 day cruise on the Wonder. The first time I wore a shirt/tie. The next time I went more comfortable and just dress pants and polo shirt. I fit in both ways but vote for the polo shirt unless on the 7 day which seems to be more formal.:Pinkbounc

I agree with disney4ever. My son and his wife went with us on trip 2. He would not wear a tie but looked good other than that. Our photos would have looked much better had we both had on ties. Take the tie, wear it during the meal and pics and then fold it up and put it in your pocket.

My DH was the same way...he did not want to take a tie on a 3-night cruise. I told him to pack one anyway, just in case. After being onboard, and enjoying the cruise, he ended up wearing it. Take one with. If he wears it, he wears...if he doesn't, he'll be fine just the same.

He will be fine...
The dress on Disney ranges from formal to casual. We've even seen jeans in Triton's. Personally, we enjoy the chance to dress up, but I think some people equate "Disney" with "casual" no matter what the guidelines say. Either way, you will fit in fine.

Thanks for the responses. I told him you guys all advised him to take one (I saw him put in the suitcase last night) ;) and then he could decide once on board if he wanted to wear it.

He'll be happy he took the tie with him and I would be willing to bet he wears it...we were on the 6/23 Wonder and dined in Triton's on Monday night. I took a sport coat and tie just for that and was glad I did. While we did see gentlemen in blue jeans (despite Disney's request to the contrary), a good number of gentlemen were wearing suit coats/sport coats. About half were wearing ties, the rest were wearing an open collared shirt (both golf style and button down style). We had some great pictures taken with the Fab 5 after dinner and my wife was very happy I wore the coat and tie. Have a great time!
