I had a 16 year drunk the other day who was unconcious & fitting due to the alcohol, the police were supposed to be attending as the address was flagged, however they eventually turned up 30 minutes later after one of the crew pressed the man down button after we were threatened. Apparently the mother is well known to the police.

I feel the same way Natalie .

Some of these people DH picks up are idiots. A 13 year old girl drunk as a skunk just kept shouting at everyone and in the end he had to shout back at her telling her to shut up as she was giving everyone a headache

Although when he comes home and says that a 3 year old has had a heart attack or a 70 year old was beaten to death it's not funny anymore and these 13 year old idiots deserve to wake up with the hangover from hell

As much as those type of people are annoying they keep me in a job! all the time they behave like they do they will most likely need an ambulance.

I have only been on the road for 2 weeks but I come home most shifts with a satisfaction that I have helped someone when they needed it. Its that feeling that keeps you going.

It does open your eyes to a lot of things though, especially how people react when you are driving with the lights & siren going. Some people act as if we are invisible

It's certainly a job that I admire. You need to be a special kind of person to take it on and be able to handle the pressure of not only saving lives but handling the cases where you can't be any help.
