DH and I (hopefully) on an alone day at MK..where to eat?

We're going to FL for a few days in June to visit family and will be spending a day (hopefully) sans kids at the magic kindgom!

As much as I'd LOVE to eat at CRT the $120 for the 2 of us for dinner isn't in the budget...any other recommendations?

One word - Narcossees at GF. Try to get a ressie during the fireworks. The servers are very good there about timing your meal, so you can go out on the balcony and watch them from there. Enjoy!

Crystal Palace if you want characters. It would probably be about $70 for dinner for two adults.

Going outside the park to one of the monorail resorts will take some time out of your touring but not a great deal. Kona Cafe at the Poly is fairly reasonable and good.

yes there will.

I can't recommend anything inside the Magic Kingdom for the kind of adult experience you appear to be looking for. I'd go outside to Narcoosees, Citricos, California Grill, or The Wave or Kona if you want to keep the costs down.

One of our favorite places to eat inside the Magic Kingdom is the Plaza Restaurant. Its just a sandwich shop (great burgers), but it does have salads too, and wonderful shakes!!!

It is a nice, cool spot for a break - and not that expensive at all.

I agree! For dinner in the MK I don't care for the other table service restaurants.

If you don't want to leave the park for dinner, I agree that The Plaza is the best option. It's my favorite Magic Kingdom table service restaurant. It's significantly quieter and quainter than the other places, which are often noisy and overrun by young children. The Plaza's menu consists of sandwiches and salads, but everything is tasty, and the ice cream desserts are wonderful.

But I suggest considering leaving the park and trying a restaurant in one of the nearby monorail resorts. The Grand Floridian, Contemporary and Polynesian all have excellent choices in varying price ranges. Kona Cafe and The Wave, for example, are relatively inexpensive and have a decidedly more adult atmosphere.

DH and I have eaten at Crystal Palace and enjoyed it everything we have been there. Yes, there are children, but I have never seen them running around screaming. The characters are fun, even for us adults. If you want something more than just a sandwich, then I would consider Crystal Palace.

If staying inside the MK is a requirement I'd go with the Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch - you don't have to do your sit down meal for dinner. LTT has great lunch options and wonderful desserts and is very nice inside - lots of rich woods and colonial paintings and such.

We were underwhelmed with the Plaza. Small, noisy, long wait even with our ADR on a not busy day, and the food was just ok. It's a sandwich shop, nothing more. Counter-service on steroids.

If leaving the MK is allowable then I'd suggest the Grand Floridian Cafe - it is not nearly as expensive as the signature restaurants (Narcoossee's, Citricos, Cali Grill, etc.) but is very good, lovely setting, and great views of the GF courtyard through a whole wall of big windows.
