Where has the colored toilet paper gone? :confused3 I remember having blue in our bathroom growing up. Today at the store all I saw was white and the conversation started from there.

Anyone else have a off the wall conversation today?

It's true. I thought of that recently. But then again, growing up there were all the "color" bathrooms, pink, blue, green, yellow. So the TP matched. Now, people have gotten away from that. Of course, lots of us are still living with them in old houses. Like me, I currently have a pink tub in one bath and blue tub in the other. I buy lots of white to offset it until we can do them over!!!

Does anyone sell the blue/pink/yellow TP?

It's really funny that you posted this, because I almost did earlier. I was watching National Lampoon's European Vacation earlier and Ellen Griswold was dancing around the bathroom and pulled the roll of toiler paper and it was pink. Made me remember it from when I was younger!

I thought there were health problems linked to the dye used to color the paper.

My mother was a small girl (early 60's I'm guessing) and at Easter they used to sell dyed baby chicks and she got a pink one. She went to school one day and came home and could not find the baby chick. Apparently the chick had fallen in the toilet and her aunt flushed it. She later realized that the toilet paper in the house was not pink, but some other color. To this day, my mother still tells the flushed pink chick story at Easter.

I've wondered about this too. Heard the dye caused allergic reactions.

But even more disturbing - how do people create those ugly tissue paper flowers for wedding cars without colored tissues? :rotfl2:

I know I shouldn't laugh but that is too funny. :rotfl:

In Brazil, the cheapest toiletpaper they have is a pink TP...and it is awful!!!! I swear, it's made from newspaper and emory boards. Give me white 2-ply TP anyday!

I miss pink toilet paper... :guilty:

It's OK Nikki, I still laugh too. You would think around our house that Easter would be about...I don't know....maybe Christ. But it is generally more about that pink chick, which leads to a pletora of other sad, sad (read hilarious) pet stories from my mother's childhood. I think her parents just didn't want to put up with another thing to take care of.

It used to be the highlight of my week...to go grocery shopping and deciding what color TP I wanted that week. Now its gone. What has this world come to!!!!!

I was wanting blue TP for out 4th of July cookout. That is how it all started.

I used to see colored TP all the time when I was little, but I haven't seen any in a pretty long time. I kinda liked it and it would be pretty cool to see it come in colors again.

I'm calling my mother right now because I swear I recently used pink toilet paper in her bathroom.

I shall return with a full TP report ASAP!

I wonder when they stopped making it? Probably when we stopped buying it. :)

Scott's still makes colored toilet paper.

I hadn't even thought about it until it was mentioned. How could something like this get past me?

;)

OK, the official TP investigation from New Haven:

Mom states that Scott single rolls still come in pink, blue, and beige. (I knew I used pink very recently there myself.) She's not sure about yellow since she has no yellow bathrooms. She reports that my youngest son is very impressed with her colored toilet paper as "Mommy only buys boring white toilet paper."

I will say that Scott single rolls can also be used for tracing paper, so I will not ever buy it myself. :lmao:

Thanks for solving this.LOL I think I will pass. The single rolls bring back memories of not wanting to use the bathroom at school because of the TP.

I completely forgot about colored toilet paper. I will have to look next time I am shopping. Wow, I feel so boring. When did I become a white paper only user? :confused3
