From the Disney Website:

"Imagine a ceremony as intimate as the feelings you share for one another, an elegant experience reflecting your own personal sense of style. That's the magic behind Disney's Intimate Weddings - romantic experiences designed just for you and your special guests. The Cake & Champagne Toast accommodates 4 guests as part of the package. For additional guests (up to 20 maximum) additional elements are at an additional cost."

I guess that they have changed the package?

~Just FYI

From what I understand Disney has a new CEO and this guy is making so many changes. They voted out the old CEO and brought in some new guy. My mom was telling me all about this the other day because we might have to pick a different hotel for our stay in December. They're slowly getting rid of their discounts, the only one left is the annual pass holder discount and they keep changing the rules with this discount. So far this new CEO isn't doing anything good and he's changing everything around. :guilty: Hopefully this guy doens't do to much damage and I can still afford my dream disney wedding in 3 years.

I booked my intimate wedding last month for May 20th, 2006 and was told that there could be up to 20 guests without any extra costs other than more champagne. The sales assistant also told me that they are not sure the officiant will be included in next years packages. On the bright side, the intimate add-on package was still only $2350 US. :cool1:

I’m glad to see Disney raise the number of guests allowed to 20. This will help out a lot of couples, especially since the minimums for custom weddings increased recently.

Hi...just so I understand what is going on, has Disney changed the number of allowed guests for Intimate Weddings to 20 total, including the bride and groom? Does that mean you can have 18 guests at the ceremony and cake cutting? If so, that does help a lot as I have 16 people we'd like to invite to our Intimate Wedding next May. Also, does anyone know how the "add-on" option works? Perhaps I should post this on a different thread but I think it's related.

Thanks! :earsgirl:

Yes, I believe that you are correct. I emailed my EM but haven't heard back anything yet. Previously, I would have had to pay $100.00 extra per person for guest #8 - #13....this is saving me some money and I'll be able to include more guests.

From what I hear from this thread, it includes to a max of 20 people for FREE!
You will only have to purchase additional beverages.

Hope this helps. I will post again whenever my EM replies.

I was told that it was 22 total people, so 20 guests. A intimate add-on is when you book your own hotel rooms at Disney first and then call to book the wedding. When I did my budget for an add-on, I figured that if I booked my own hotel for 4 nights, changed the park tickets to park hoppers for 3 days (b/c I won't need a ticket on the day of the wedding) and the add-on at about $2350, I ended up saving around $450 US from the package price of $3500. Any money saved is good for me!

Are you sure that there is no additional costs for guests 4 - 20?

The web page says "4 guests as part of the package. For additional guests (up to 20 maximum) additional elements are at an additional cost"

I assumed that the 'elements' are the beverages, as there is nothing else that you can purchase for your guests.

I am at the end of my planning phase and my kit only included additional champagne or sparkling cidar for the guests. All other 'elements' are for the bride and groom.

I'm still awaiting my EM to email me back.

When DD & I met with the sales mgr in November, she mentioned that you could now have up to a total of 20 people at an intimate wedding (including the bride & groom). The charge would be $100 per guest over the standard 8. So by my calculations, that would be $1000 over the base price of the package for a total of 18 guests. A big savings compared to the $10,000 for a custom wedding.
HTH.

This is great- I had numerous relatives/friends invite themselves that I had to switch to a Swan wedding- this would have made a FTW possible for me.

When I booked last month, I was told that there was no additional charge for having 20 guests at the wedding instead of 8 because they had decided to change the number restrictions for the intimate package. However, they only include champagne for up to 10 people, so you would have to purchase additional bottles, but there was no cost for each additional guest.

What MEME says about elements makes sense.

But why when they changed the web page did they reduce the number of guest to 4 included in the package, since a bottle serves 8? The web page says "4 guests as part of the package. For additional guests (up to 20 maximum) additional elements are at an additional cost" It should read 8 guests as part of the package ...

Very confusing. I am interested what the EMs response is.

I agree with you...I had planned an intimate, but we had 19 guests and at the time they couldn't accomodate that in an intimate--so we threw caution to the wind and made it a full out custom and now are expecting over 100 guests...oh well--it's only money :cool1:

My EM emailed me back with GREAT news!

The intimate package now includes up to 20 guests, for no, NO addtional charge! :cool1:

EVERYONE up to 20 are FREE!

You will have to purchase addtional beverages, but that is it.

I am too excited about this, as her response has brightened my day! :sunny:

I love the fact they've changed the number! :Pinkbounc

We want a smaller wedding but definitely would love to have more than 8 guests there. And how much could a bottle of champagne cost for the added guests? Does anyone know if children are included in the 20 guests? We are going to have two at our ceremony, one 2 years old and one 7. Both will be in the wedding party so I'm not sure about counting them as guests. I guess it doesn't matter in the long run. It's early and I'm thinking out loud! :rolleyes1

If I remember correctly, in the intimate wedding packet, an extra bottle of Fairytale Cuvee was over $50. I can't quite remember. I also remember that a VERY small bottle of Dasani water was $4.75/bottle and they served 10 at our little itty bitty wedding!

::MickeyMo does anyone now if this applies to paclages already booked ? WE are paying £325 next week for extra guests.

i wished they had changed it it time for our wedding. 20 guests would have been perfect. we still had an intimate, but we really had to restrict our guest list...oh well...
