A few of my siblings love the Best Buy Black Friday sale. They were in line in their respective cities at midnight last year and were able to get everything on their list without a problem.

I've got a few things on my list that Best Buy probably will have at good prices. Wondering if I should join the crazy folks there in the very wee hours of the morning. Best Buy hasn't been a place I usually go because I don't like to get in line before 4 / 5 am if at all possible. Lines at Best Buy are always too long by then.

Anyone around here go? Is is as bad? Do you really need to be there before 3am?

Best Buy is probably the one store that I won't do for Black Friday. That place is way crazier than ToysRUs!

That used to be my first stop at jaunts. I would usually get there and line up at 4 am! I was never the first in line, but not the five hundredth.

I noticed the great deals at BB in last years ad. Then I read the fine print...for all the great deals...6 items per store. I would be REALLY ticked off if I got in line at midnight and I was number 7.....

Let me say, I have done many Black Friday 5:00 am runs during the years. Last year, I was interested in some items at Best Buy and my daughter and I thought we'd give it a try! Big, Big Mistake!!!

First, they had people lining up not at Midnight but at 5:00 on Thanksgiving evening. They had lawn chairs and sleeping bags. Now keep in mind, I live in Buffalo and it's mighty cold this time of year already. The line was at least down 6 full stores when I got there before 5:00. People are nuts!!! Myself included for being there. LOL!

Anyways, they did have a nice system going so there were no possibilities of "line cutters or rushers." As well, they handed out cards for the big tickets items on sale starting at the front of the line. If you got a card, you were "guaranteed" the item once inside the store. I thought--not bad especially since I had my card for what I wanted.

Once inside, I truly don't know how they did not break a local fire ordinance for occupancy numbers! You couldn't move one foot in either direction. They actually had "runners" available to get certain items while you got in line. I was in line immediately and it took me "three hours" to check out!!! No I'm not kidding. People were getting overheated and tired of standing. Best Buy associates were passing out Krispy Kreme donuts (free) to those waiting in line.

Honestly, I doubt I would do it again. There is only one store in our area which makes things much worse. I say that now but who knows, if the right "must have" item at the right price was on sale, who knows--I must just try it again!

I am just shaking my head at some of these posts, especially the one about getting in line at 5:00 p.m. the day before, and standing in the checkout line for 3 hours (which you have no idea is going to happen until you are in line for 3 hours!). I wonder how many shoppers are there because they truly want the deal, or they are out for the thrill of the hunt?

It's just crazy, and that being said, I can't wait for the ads to come out to see what's going to get me out of bed at 4:00 a.m.!(I do draw the line at 4:00!)

My sister & brother were able to get some of the 6 items per store type by being in line at midnight. Like disneyfanatic60 said they were given cards so they were guaranteed the item while they were in line. Did make it so they didn't have to worry once they were in the store.

BB is on my regular "rounds" about once per week, but there's no way I would wait in line to get in, then way in line to get out. That practice is reserved exclusively for WDW;) :earsboy:

I've never wanted anything bad enough to go shopping on Black Friday or get up that early.

My bf wants to go for some LCD monitor they have. :confused Who knows if he'll actually do it.

Can't you just buy the Black Friday items online?

You can try buying the Black Friday item on line, but the site is so over loaded you are lucky if you get thru.

I want to go to Best Buy to buy the wireless router $28 for our lap top. I think I will go to our local Staples store, they have it for the same price.

I don't understand why a store only gets 6 of one certain item. Isn't this against the law to lure people in a store and not have the item and then hopeing the customer will buy something else.
