DFW airport

We are staying at the DFW Airport Hyatt Regency on July 31st and our flight leaves at 6am on August 1st.
I have never flown out of this airport (or stayed at an airport hotel), can you suggest how early we should be checked in. I wasn't sure if I still needed to plan for 2 hours since the hotel is at the airport>

Despite the size DFW is quite an easy airport to navigate and get through security. I do not see any need for being there 2 hours early especially on a Wednesday. If you arrived at the terminal 75-90 minutes before departure you should have more than enough time, especially so early in the day.

I always fly out of DFW. I'm one that am always there at least two hours before my flight. I usually take the first flight out just like you are. Even though I choose to be there more than two hours early, I really wouldn't have to. Security it not usually bad at that time of the morning. I'm always waiting at least an hour at the gate. . I agree DFW is easy to get around. Reasons I like to get there early though are:

#1. I live over an hour away from the airport and know there is pretty much always road construction and wrecks I have to get through

#2. Even though I always check the gate assignement before leaving home that morning, more than once, I've arrived, just to find that in the short time since I left home, they've changed my terminal, so I have to catch the tram to a different terminal and gate.

If you are staying in a airport hotel, you can easily leave your hotel 70-90 minutes prior to your flight and make it with no problem.

I recently had a JetBlue flight that left at 6am from DFW. I also stayed at the Hyatt Regency. I left the hotel at about 4:00am on the shuttle to the airport thinking I had plenty of time. I was totally wrong as I almost missed the flight because it took 90 minutes to get through TSA security because they were understaffed and overwhelmed.
