Anyone out there fly outta DFW American Airlines and know about the skycaps? Some time back there was talk about a "surcharge" (imposed by either the airport or airlines) for skycaps handling your baggage and they were concerned it would cut into their tips. I think the surcharge was gonna be $1.00 a bag, but I can't find anything on the airport or AA website. I like to tip the skycaps, but don't know if that new policy ever took effect so I don't know how much to set aside for them.

We flew American out of DFW last part of June going to Disney. We checked three bags with the skycap. American charges $2 per bag for using curb-side check. I tipped skycap $2 per bag also. So it was $6 for American and $6 for the skycap for a total of $12 for using curb-side check. To me this service is worth it. Not, having to carry the big bags inside is great. We had no problems. Skycap was VERY friendly and bags made it to Orlando just as they should have. Have fun on your trip.

Ah, thanks goodguy. I certainly don't mind payin' for them to handle my bags from the curb, as you said worth it. I know the airlines these days are tryin' to squeeze every penny outta us, just didn't hear any update on that extra charge. I'm payin' it for the convenience. Thanks for the info
