Developers points only used at 7 month window?

Was anyone else told that the developers points could only be used at the 7 month window? I called today to try to get some info for Nov, and they told me any dev points could not be used yet.

Thats is right for the developer points it is 7 months.

They have no home resort assigned to them, so they can only be used at 7 months out.

The developer points are "generic" -- no home resort -- so there is no DVC resort where you can use them 11 months out. That restriction does not apply to using them for other things such as cruises or Disney hotels.

Developer points do have a 7 month window. They (MS) let me make a reservation farther out than that, and told me to call back at the 7 month mark and have an adjustment made from my regular points to my developer points. I have heard developer points knocked many times on this board, but I put them to good use (free trip) with out any trouble at all.
