Developer Point Question

Are you able to make a reservation request online with your developer points.. They dont show up in your information/account.. and i know its because they belong to Disney... but I wasnt sure if I could still put in my request online.. thanks.

Not 100% sure ( never managed to snag a DP incentive yet ) but think a reservation using DPs should be done by phone with MS because it is actually recorded/done on paper & not done at all on the dvc system where regular points are managed.

I had to call MS to book for February in September - Do you have your member number? If not call your Vacation Guide and they can help you. I then got an email with the reservation number about 2-3 wks after the reservation was made but I was able to call several times to make ADRs so the reservation was definitely in the system.

We did receive dev pts in June. Since we bought 200, we also received 200. We used most the second week of our trip (Thanks David Miller for working so hard on that one at the last minute). We had leftover dev pts that did show up on the website for us to use by Apr. Since I am new and still trying to understand how it all works, I idn't even try to book anything online. I called and let MS walk me through it all. She was so helpful I may call next time, too.

When I added on some points in the Spring I ended up getting 120 developer/incentive points. I had to call MS in order to use those points.

Let me give you a little advice in case you need it....

Be patient when booking with those points. They show up in the system differently and you have to tell MS they are there to begin with because they don't initially see them.

Keep track of what you did with the points because if you change things could get 'messy'.

There is one gal in MS who loads all of the incentive points into the system. IF you have problems ask for her. If you PM me I can give you her name 'offline' (if that is allowed?)

You will not get a letter confirmation of your trip but you can ask for an email confirmation.

These points and any bookings made with these points will not show up on your account online.

Bottom line, they are a very nice 'gift' to receive but we all have to learn how best to manage them ourselves.

I have booked 3 trips using developer points and have recieved a confirmation letter for each one. Didn't know to specifically ask for that or an e-mail.

Also, my guide was helpful in using those points but we went through member services.
