Hi guys, I didnt want to hijack the other thread so I thought I'd start a new one. Can anyone give me info on the friends and family referral plan? Is it something for new members only? Thanks!

No, it is not for new members only.

Existing members can received the F&F 15% off discount if they purchase 120 or more points at SSR.

Non-members must purchase at least 150 points and have a referral to receive the discount.

The discount amount can be applied towards the downpayment, if you are financings; however, they still require 10% to be paid out-of-pocket.

I believe the current UY they are selling for new members is August, so you would get the Aug 2005 allocation and then receive your next allotment this August too. Of course, with current members, you will get the same UY as the contract you are adding on to.

Important note: the F&F promo ends February 1st.

Thanks for the info. I am an existing member. It sounds like the add-on I want to do (50) pts, probably doesnt qualify. If I misunderstood, let me know. Thanks again.

No, for just 50 points at SSR you would have to pay $98 per point. I believe at 100 points you can get the $8 discount, and at 120 points you get the 15% discount.

A 50 pt add-on at any of the other resorts direct thru DVC would be $92/point.

Actually I think you can specify your use year within reason. I just signed up yesterday with FnF and I am a new member. My guide said I would have the August use year, but I told him that we come every year in October. He said no problem, we will make your use year October. The good thing about that is if I had an August use year, I would have to bank those 2005 150 points by today, now I have until the end of March.
