Destin, FL in April - beach weather?

Brrrr...a few yrs ago we drove home to CT from Ft. Myers and we stoped in the then DtD for dinner. I noticed a slight change in temp. When we got to our stopping point in st Augustine/Jacksonville it was cold. We were freezing. It was around 10 pm.

So while I think day time would be OK but still chilly for the beach, with a breeze it may make it seem cooler. Night time would need pants and a coat.

And BTW, my son walked into a baseball clinic last night with shorts and a t shirt. It was 36 out.

Yeah that's chilly! Maybe mid-April is less chilly. This trip wouldn't be until 2019. Just looking at ideas.
