Toy Story night looks fun. I love the alien cupcakes! :)

I'm guessing your tortilla is the first one, with the tongue (lettuce) sticking out!

I've read and caught up!!

I am so impressed with all your running efforts - even with your injuries. Has your daughter started her training yet??

And while you are thinking about doing a post for me about the run, I just might need you to consider doing one about the driving experience too ;)

Can't wait to hear more about your plans!

Thanks for stopping by :) I hope you enjoyed your time catching up!! I popped onto your blog just a bit ago :) How nice to have moved close to Disney!!! I would be tempted to do it except it's difficult to get into a different country plus it's TOO HOT there in the summer - I couldn't handle that heat. lol
So has your son done the EE Challenge?? I've heard it's so much fun and you just can't beat Expedition Everest in the dark and multiple times with no waits right??? :)

I'm glad she's gotten started again too. She will be ready much quicker than I would so she'll be fine but I was starting to worry. Glad you like the cupcakes. It seems it's always the easiest thing to make for theme nights but it's aweful on the stomach if you know what i mean b/c then i have a whole batch of the sitting around for the week. :sad2: lol

I'm guessing that some of you picked the one with the crazy hair b/c it's an artsy looking one and your guessing that i'm an artsy person after seeing all my theme night creations but I have a confession to make to you all --- I'm actually not all that creative :sad2:
I am the one that needs to have order in life - rules are made for a reason and i pretty much follow them to a T. I don't colour outside the lines and I love to know what i am doing at all times. I am the OVERPLANNER for our trips and at home I like the mellow, calm lifestyle that I have become accustomed to. The creative streak i have in me is just a force of habit actually. I worked in daycare for many many years and taught preK as well and have nannied too so I was always forced to be doing programming and theming type stuff. I also did it with my dd when she was younger and now that she's older I don't do creative stuff too often so these theme nights are bringing that old habit back. it's nice but I spend most of the time researching it out b/c I like to get it perfect. Oh - I just MIGHT be a tad of a perfectionist in certain areas as well.

Don't get me wrong - I still love to listen to my music loud and am a total thrill ride junkie but i LOVE ORDER..... Does that about explain my perfect and simple bear?? :rotfl2:

Here is DH's. He's the artist in the family who loves to draw and paint and do puzzles (however he doesn't ever have time for the first two and does maybe 1 puzzle a year due to lack of time). He's a photographer as a second job and during the winter when things are slow he loves to build stuff and has done an amazing job with that - especially our walk in closets (one for us and one for dd), and the other built in furniture he's done in each of our rooms so we have spots to store things in our small home.
Here is his Mr. Tortilla Head....

DSC_3972.jpg

And last but not least, here is DD's.
She takes after her father and it also an amazing artist who loves to draw and colour. She's a musician (her teachers are amazed at her talent for french horn (a very difficult instrument) and trumpet), she gets top marks in school and is 2 classes away from becomming a certified lifeguard b/c of her love for being in the water. I often say she's half fish!!!
So, her Mr. Tortilla Head is also more artsy looking than mine...

Well, that was fun! Thanks for playing :goodvibes:thumbsup2

Just came across you PTR and read the enitre thing. You are going to be in great shape to run the race! I've been doing the couch to 5k program which has been a nice easy way for me to get back into running. Can't wait to read more!

yay! So glad you joined in :) And I agree - I will be in good shape. The best in most of my life actually b/c I've NEVER been an active person but very sedentary. I never ever worked up a sweat until I started jogging!!! Well - unless i was sitting in the heat of course. lol. but that certainly doesn't do a person much good for being healthy. I also get out to help my daughter with her flyer route 3 times/week so thats 45 min of walking, hauling, and doing stairs - 45 min/3X's per week that I NEVER got out before. So I SHOULD be in the best shape yet. Funny though - I still can't find any workout shorts that I like on me even though my legs SHOULD be more toned :(

And we are ready for....

DAY 9 PLANS

At this point we will have been in sunny Floriday for over a week! We are going to be wiped probably and here is what we have planned for ROPE DROP TIME on this particular day......

It's coming, keep going ......

Is the suspense killing you??

Doing

THIS!!!!......

......

sleep3.jpg

 What can I say - not a very exciting morning but a MUCH NEEDED morning I'm thinking :rotfl:
Notice I get the cutest sleeping picture?? ;)

We will have a nice relaxing day

At some point we will swing by for our packet pick up for the Expedition Everest Challenge that we will be running the next day

And to end it off we will have our repeat trip to Magic Kingdom later in the day say around 3 or 4 pm. The plan is to just wing it.

Arrive

grab fast pass for Space

Shop around

Grab some supper wherever we feel like it

Grab fast pass for Splash when the time comes

and hopefully ride the following but it's no big deal if we don't...

Space
Splash
POTC
TTA
HM
JC

most of them I really want to do at night for the whole "feel" of it in the dark except for space of course.

We won't watch the fireworks (I know bummer but we really aren't firework fans and can just enjoy them from a distance)

instead we will take that time to take advantage of some shorter lines since most people will be lining up for and watching the fireworks. We do plan to stay til the very end though and get home late in prep for what TOMORROW WILL BRING!!!!

THAT'S ALL FOLKS!!!!

Hi! I did enjoy it ~ I've always loved TR's :)

The summer is hard to manage but having a pool and air conditioning makes it doable. We don't go to the parks much in the summer, we spend that time going to Science centers and Children's museums in the area.

He hasn't done the EE Challenge. He wanted to last year but I said no because it was too hot :lmao:.

The ToT race was great because there was an after party until the early morning hours and we got to ride my favorite ride (TOT) over and over and over again with no wait. I'd love to be able to do that at night on my 2nd favorite ride ~ EE!

Maybe I'll go this year ... you may have talked me into it ;)

DAY 10 PLANS...

YES!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS THE DAY!! The Day that I have been training for since November and DD has been training for since.... well since last week I guess. LOL

The DAY WE TAKE ON ..............

yeti2.jpg

THE YETI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeti.jpg

OK but I'm getting ahead of myself here!!! We don't take on the Yeti til 9:30 pm :scared1:

I know!!!!! How on earth are we going to wait that long! RIGHT?!?!? Oh well - I may have an anxious sort of day but I'm no morning person willing to wake up at 3 am and get ready for a race so I will happily take on the late run :goodvibes

First off we will do the same as yesterday and try and sleep in as LOOOONG as we possibly can.

Then we'll plan to arrive at this place for a little before 11am....

kona.jpg

I have heard AMAZING things about their breakfast and decided it was the PERFECT morning before a race meal for me :thumbsup2

Thanks for the idea Alicia!!! I hope we run into you on your way out!!!

Here's what is on the menu for me on this day...

toast.jpg

darn - i snitched a small pic offline. Oh well.
It's the famous TONGA TOAST!!!

I've heard it's quite sweet but there is NOTHING i like more when it comes to food than SWEET!!!!!! So I'm all for it!

DD will have .....

pancakes.jpg

Macadamia nut butter and pineapple pancakes

- being obsessed with all things Hawaii she could NOT resist this when she saw it :lmao:

And DH?? Well, he doesn't plan meals ahead and will wait and see when he gets there.

After our late breakfast we hope to swing by DownTown Disney to catch a friend perform with her band and saunter around shopping for a bit

then it'll be back to the condo for some pool time and a nap just before supper.

I'm REALLY not sure HOW we are going to wait til the end of the day to head off for the race but we'll make due and try to just take it easy today.

Todays funds for the race go to support a very good cause in my daughters eyes (mine too of course but she's an animal FANATIC who spends money most Christmases to adopt animals and support them through World Wildlife Federation so this was RIGHT up her alley!!)

It's for the BEAUTIFUL snow leopard........

eesnowleop.jpg

Here's the race course (last years map)

eemap.jpg

I have seen the new one but I havn't found it in a form that i can snag and post online.

Here is one obstacle we will most likely have to do (there will be 3 or 4 I beleive)

ee1.jpg

Here is the finish line!!!!!!! :yay:I'm getting excited!!!!

ee2.jpg

and here is one of the previous medals!!! this year is 5 years for this race so they have fancied it up a bit and added some colour to it.

ee3.jpg

And today i got this sample clue in the mail!!

562147_3430580050647_1454752062_3191308_62940915_n.jpg

at first i freaked a bit and thought it was REALLY difficult!!! But then I made myself calm down and tell myself they aren't that difficult and to stop getting the feeling i'm being TESTED!!! Once i relaxed a bit I had it figured out in like 2 minutes! YAY ME :thumbsup2

We will stick around after the race is done to take on the YETI a few times or maybe several. LOL and possibly to hear the winners announced but DEFINITELY to meet up with some of my fellow DIS racers for some photo ops :thumbsup2 I DON"T want to miss that.

Then sometime in the weee hours of the morning we will drag our butts home to bed and collapse!!!!!!!!!!!!

it will have been a very long but EXTREMELY rewarding day and I will be so proud of myself and DD for accomplishing our first 5K run. :cloud9:

NEXT UP - HOW WILL WE RECOVER FROM OUR LONG DAY/ HARD RUN/ LATE NIGHT???

I think you'll definitely need a sleep in/relax day after a week in Florida!

Race day sounds like another good day to sleep late. Breakfast at Kona is yummy! I've had the Tonga Toast---very rich. I didn't have very much luck finishing it off. But I had fun trying! ;)

Your Day 9 and 10 plans look great! By Day 9, you're going to need a rest, so it's nice that you will all be sleeping in! :cool1:

The EE race looks so cool! I was actually thinking about signing up last week, but then I went to the run Disney site, and it was full. :confused3 Maybe next year! I love the obstacles, that looks like so much fun!

We will have a nice relaxing day
:thumbsup2 Gotta have at least one per trip!

We might end up at the MK for a little while that night, too! I know Leo won't sleep in the next day, but if we're up a little later than usual on the 4th and I get him up early on race day, I have a shot at naps pre-run. I hope.
