DEST EE 5K PTR - 19days Apr/May-(I'm BaaaaaCK!)

I love those Thing 1 and Thing 2 cupcakes! :cool1:

Your Day 4 and 5 plans sound great! A surf lesson at TL sounds awesome! We have only done the water parks once, and after a few years away, I really want to go back, they are so much fun! :cool1:

Wow, those cupcakes are so creative! And it looks like you had fun on your theme night! Your trip is coming closer and closer; are you getting excited??

Thanks!!! And you should DEFINITELY go to one of the waterparks. If for nothing else than to just bask in the sun and have some relaxing time while being surrounded by a tropical paradise :beach:
But i guess it depends on what you like. DD and DH like Blizzard Beach b/c the faster slides are there but I live in a white snowy landscape 5 - 7 months of the year so that LAST thing i want to do in sunny Florida is be surrounded by white and snow (even if it's just painted lol)!!! So Typhoon Lagoon is my choice :) And if you don't care for slides like me they have the lazy river that is nice too. and if your brave you can even swim over the shark pool and see some sea creatures (for an added cost of course).

Thanks :goodvibes Gotta love google search ;)
I'm glad it looked like we had fun - I mean we did of course but b/c it was a last minute idea it was kind of scattered throughout the evening and I had to get dd and dh to come away from the computer or whatever to participate. I actually told dd at the end that maybe the theme nights were more work than need be since she seemed like she's rather be on her computer but she said NO!!! She loves theme night and apologized for the computer thing. She REALLY wants to do more:)
and YES!!!! We are at the 50 day mark now! :woohoo::woohoo: I am getting more and more excited each day. I really need to drag myself away from DIS and TGM and RideMax and the other sites i pop onto and get some actual physical stuff done!! I need new running shoes, swimsuit, and who knows what else but once DD's bday is over this weekend i'll be able to focus on the shopping part. I should get those shoes ASAP though to get them worked in a bit though.

Does anyone know where i can find some good packing lists?? Disney specific would be great b/c it will have the theme park aspect included. I tried doing a search on here the other day but didn't have much luck - there is SOOOO much on the site that i often have troubles finding exactly what i'm looking for.

If you google "ultimate packing list for Disney" lots of them will come up, but this one is good:

Ultimate Packing List

It's a little crazy, I sometimes use it as a guide more than anything, because if you bring all that crap with you, you'll need like 10 suitcases! :rotfl:

perfect!! Thanks, I will have a look at it this weekend if I find some time with all the bday stuff going on with DD (officially 14 now!) :scared1:

Well, i'm having a crazy busy weekend with some bad to it too :( It's dd's 14th bday so she had friends over last night from 5:30 til noon today and now she's got friends over again. So that's the busy part but the bad part is that i got a migraine :( Oh well, i'm feeling a bit better today (I got it yesterday) just a little bit of what i call migraine hangover. It's mostly gone though which is good b/c sometimes the hangover part can last from a 2 - 5 days. so This one was a mild one.

Anyway, at least I have one bit of GOOD news to share :thumbsup2 DD and i went shoe shopping on Thursday :goodvibes so i finally have new runners for the race. Just need to work them in now - won't be doing it this weekend b/c i will just finish getting over my migraine hangover but i'm super excited to try them out this week.
I read up and they had VERY good ratings. I've been wearing them around the house today and they felt a bit stiff at first but they are feeling more comfy already. I need stabilizing runners b/c i am an overpronater and it's amazing that i can actually feel them forcing my feet to NOT put all the pressure onto my big toe area. I'm hoping they are very good for my feet and jogging workouts.

Here are my Asics Gel 1170's...
asicsgel1170.jpg

DD on the other hand LOVES to run on the treadmill barefoot so we got her something more minamalistic and she just LOVES the feel of them. Hopefully I'll be able to get her doing some jogging again now that she has these to work in befoe the trip....
DD's Reebok Realflex Transitions...
reebokrealflextransition.jpg

Isn't that colour amazing!?!?!?!? They are SO cool!!! I would love to wear them for myself but I'm not much of a "pink" wearer b/c of the red hair.

So, that's my excitement :goodvibes Not to mention that we are now down to 47 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where has the time gone????? We need to get our butts into the store and find swimsuits, and other summer things. i think this week we will lay out our stuff to see what we are missing for clothing pieces and set a date next weekend maybe to do some serious shopping. DD can use her bday money for some of it and some of it I will put away for Easter.

Thanks for reading :) If you read i sure hope you'll post b/c it's a bit depressing when i pop on here and don't see many posts :sad1::sad1:

Migraine hangover.... been there, done that. ;) Hope it goes away soon.
I love my Asics, gel 2060's! I just about broke the cardinal sin rule of runners - I wore practically brand new shoes for a Half Marathon. ** gasp ** I only just got them about 2 weeks before the Chip and Dale Relay this last January, wore them exclusively on the treadmill (because, again, I don't run outside in the cold :snooty: ), and wore them for the 13.1 miles. And the verdict was? The best race ever!! I predict you'll do a fine job in breaking them in (or not) and be perfectly comfortable for the race!

Asics are a really dependable shoe. I have the Asics Phoenix 3 and my mom has the same kind as you (only its last year's model, so its the 1160). She absolutely loves hers. She wishes she had a second pair, so I'd say just give yours a little time. I know it took a good month of running before mine felt worn in.
Your DD's shoes are really cute!

47 days! That's awesome! Sounds like your trip will arrive before you know it!:thumbsup2

Hi! I started reading when you first posted your PTR but got busy so I've finally caught up.

LOVE your DD's shoes! Those are super cute! My mom swears by her asics, but I'm a nike kind of gal. Run barefoot? Ouch! If I walk on the treadmill for more than 3 minutes barefoot my feet are killing me!

Love your PTR! I bet the surfing lessons will be awesome!

my migraine was mild compared to how it has been in the past so i am feeling really good today. Thanks :) :) I'm still debating if i should run or wait til tomorrow?? I might go with being lazy. lol we'll see.
I'm glad to hear your new running shoes did you well without being worked in. At first when i put mine on they definitely felt stiff but by the time i took them off they were already feeling better so I'm pretty sure i won't have to work them in too much.

I did research before getting my asics. I wanted to be sure i was getting a good shoe for me b/c i get alot of shin splints if my shoes aren't really good and i definitely rotate my feet so i needed a proven stabilizing shoe. glad to hear another vote for them :goodvibes

so happy you came back :) I post ALOT!!!
I don't know how dd runs barefoot - i tried it and HATED it and had sore shins :scared: and aches I'd never had before but then i do hear some people swear by barefoot running. Maybe we should have gotten her a pair of those barefoot running shoes - you know, the ones that feel like your wearing next to nothing and have the individual toe spots like gloves?? lol. it would look cute but until i know for sure her body can handle lots of running without good shoe support we'll stick to some minamlist running shoes.
and I'm very excitted to see her take the surf lessons. she wanted to hit a beach where she could try it on her own but we will be out by Tampa which isn't very well known for surf waves and I'm glad!! i'd MUCH rather have her learn in a controlled environment with professionals around to take care of her. it's a win win for her and mommy :goodvibes

WELL, my migraine hangover went away exceptionally fast. I'm greatful but on the other hand I'm debating if i should just take another down day or get my butt on the treadmill again. I want to try out my runners but I'm feeling lazy and might rather post our next days plans instead????
I guess I'll see how it goes. maybe at least a 1K run???

Yay for the new Asics! I just bought a pair myself, but I have been having pain in my right arch when I wear them; I wonder if I'm doing something funky to make my feet hurt when they shouldn't. The shoe is SUPER comfortable, I just get pain about a mile into any run. I don't get it. :confused3 Those look just like mine, but mine are pink and purple instead of having the blue only. I like your DD's too!

Alrighty. I'm all caught up now! :thumbsup2

I have to say, the foam roller incident??? :lmao::rotfl2::lmao: I was ROLLING. Primarily, because it totally sounded like something I would do. LOL. OUCH! HAHAHAHA OUCH!!! Ok...ok...

And the Thing 1 and Thing 2 cupcakes looked so good!! I drooled a little. :lmao:

DH has been doing the C25K thing for a while now too. I think he's on week 5 now? I'm not completely sure, but he's become a running machine. He has been running every other day like clockwork, and has dropped close to 40 or 45 lbs now. I think maybe I should give it a try. The only problem here is that I have never been a runner. I'm more of a faller. :rotfl2: Maybe soon.

I totally admire you for running and keeping yourself accountable for it. That's one area I lack in. Whenever it comes to any type of exercising, I always weasle my way out of it one way or another. :lmao:

I got some new shoes this past week. I need to break them in on my treadmill. Yours look great!
I also got a foam roller, but now I am afraid to use it!

hmmm, that's weird. Do you know what your foot habits are? You should know what type of arch you have but mostly how you step to choose runners. The Asics gels are for control but maybe you need shoes geared more to support and cushioning? if your not sure check out this link... http://www.runnersworld.com/shoeadvisor
I saw my shoes in purple too at another store but they wouldn't let us do the buy one get one half price deal (dd's shoes were not applicable to the deal) so we went somewhere that would! lol

LOL - ya - it was silly of me to try and balance on it when i have one that is cut in half lengthwise so it sits flat on the floor - at my age I'm better off balancing on that one. I am FINALLY getting to the point that it's not bugging me anymore. that was a MONTH!!!

It's amazing how you can lose weight when you run. i've lost a bit but if i could stay away from junk food i know the pounds would be falling right off!!!

LOL - i try to weasle my way out of it too! In this day and age it's so easy to say there is already too much going on or your too tired. Half the time i whine all the way down to the treadmill but it always feels so good AFTER - not DURING but after it does. lol

 Don't be afraid to use it - just use it the right way. LOL i LOVE it for my hamstrings b/c they bother me often.

BACK INTO THE PARKS YAY:banana:
DAY 7 will be our DISNEY HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS day!

So here's the tentative plan for this day (I've never toured with TSMM open so this was a tricky day for me and it may still endure some tweaking)...

Arrive 8:15
HOPE for an early opening
planning for a 9am opening tho and extra time is a bonus
9am - grab FP's for TSMM
ride TSMM
head over and ride RnR
ride ToT
grab FP for one of them when time is right
by now it should be time to ride TSMM with FP
ride Star Tours (as long as Indiana Jones show has not just let out)

THis is our morning commando plan and after that it's pretty laid back. Grab FP's and use them when the time arrives and we want to do the following...

DRAW at ANIMATION STATION
use another FP for RnR & ToT
Ride the BACKLOT TOUR bc it's been SO many years since we last did

2:50 late lunch ressie at 50's PRIME TIME

With DD being older now we have the flexibility to use single rider lines whenever it suits us. it works out really well b/c DH goes in front with DD in the middle and ME in back. So chances are good that she will be VERY close to one of us every time.

No parades and no shows for us unless DH decides to catch an Indiana Jones show but last I heard he wasn't too concerned with it.

Probably leave the park between 4 and 5 i would think.

Hmmm, now let's see what i can find from DHS for pictures :)

ok, first off is the picture of us with the INCREDIBLES. I made shirts for us as you can see. I LOVED that the letter I on the sleeve went with our last name Iverson :) the shirts said incredible dad, incredible daughter and incredible mom. The funny thing is that the Incredibles tried to pose us. DD and DH did great but mom incredible was not having so much luck getting my stiff body into position!!! She kept trying and trying to repose me but I just was NOT getting it :rotfl2: She fiinally just shrugged her shoulders and GAVE UP ON ME!! i didn't even realize i was not holdiing the pose she was trying to get me into. Oh well. Take a look for yourself but don't laugh too hard if i look a bit odd or stiff...

they tried to pose us in the same pose that was on our shirts.

OH OH OH!!! Here is me and DD at the FRONT of the crowd :goodvibes We were hoping with our shirts we'd get family of the day but an engaged couple got it instead. That's ok - we were still right up front - look! absolutely NOBODY in front of us except a cast member at the rope:thumbsup2

That's it for now :) Even though there aren't a LOT of things we do in this park it still has some of our FAVES so we are really looking forward to DHS. i can't wait to experience TSMM  and to get into 50's Prime Time :yay:

OUR FAVES FOR THIS PARK ARE...
1 - RnR
2 - ToT
3 - Animation Station (for DD & DH) or whatever it's called lol
4 - HOPING to ADD TSMM to this list - we all love Buzz and MIB which are similar so I know this will be the case.

NEXT UP - ONE and a HALF MONTHS til RACE TIME!!! Time to KICK IT UP a NOTCH!!!!!! and get on DD's butt!

Hi there - followed you over from the EE Challenge thread! And I'm so glad I did... I burned out on reading and writing TRs for a while there and took a break, but forgot how much fun it is to share in the planning excitement of others. :goodvibes Your trip sounds amazing, and I'm not just saying that because it includes my neck of the woods. :rotfl: (I'm near Madeira Beach and a HUGE Busch Gardens fan.)

Looking forward to more :thumbsup2

Yes, I have seen those toe shoes before! I always wondered what they felt like. I am sure mommy is very glad she will be in a controlled area with lifeguards! It would definitely make me feel better!

Glad your migraine dissapeared!

Your Incredibles shirts are adorable; you should've gotten family of the day! Kim Possible!? I used to watch that show all the time when I was younger!! I hope they are there on our trip I would LOVE to get a picture with them!

The animation academy is my #1 favorite random thing to do in WDW. I would be in there all day if I could, that's the only way I can actually draw a decent drawing! DHS is tied with MK for my favorite park, I just love the atmosphere.

YAY! I'm so glad you did. and I'm so glad your enjoying following along :goodvibes
It does take alot of comitment to do the reports well doesn't it? I hope I'm able to get it done all the way to the end b/c I know there isn't as much info on Sea World and Busch and even not as much on Universal so i think there wuold be alot of people that would enjoy those parts of the report. Plus there are a lot of reports for people with smaller kids and not as many for thrill seekers so that's something too that's a bit different.

i wish we had known about you when we were looking for a place around Madeira Beach. We gave up and decided to just drive down to Busch and again drive down for the wedding but we looked a LOT for a nice place to stay on the beach that was affordable. They all had minimums of 3 nights to a week though it seemed :(

Glad you like the shirts. I guess you can't really get a close look at them from the pics but you get the idea. and DD and DH could do the Animation thing over and over too. I don't care for drawing but I do admit I was impressed with what i came out with too!!! it's amazing what you can do when it's broken down into regular shapes hey???
