Dessert wines in the France wine store

When it comes to wines, I love dessert wines. You know the sweet and fruity kind. I was hoping to find some at the wine shop in France. Has anyone ever bought some there? Any recommendations?? Thanks!

If they don't have many/any at all, do you have a local wine store you can ask? Disney's prices tend to be quite a bit higher than other stores and the selection is sometimes not the greatest.

I am not sure if it is a dessert wine... but the Ice Wine is to die for. It is sweet and just delicious, I had it at Le Cellier and I had some at home that we bought from a total beverage place, I would say try it, you should not be disappointed, so good

Yes, that's considered a dessert wine I like the riesling ice wines better than the vidal ice wines (different grapes), myself, so Inniskillin (vidal) has started tasting like raisins to me.

That reminds me, Germany has many dessert wines - look for types such as auslese, beerenauslese, trockenbeerenauslese, and eiswein.

I'm sure some will mention the Rosa Regale at Italy, and I know you can find that in regular wine stores.

I know this is not in France, but the plum wine in Japan is like a dessert wine..

I don't remember that many dessert wines in France, but Germany had TONS of great dessert wines. Have to second the poster who recommended the Ice Wines from Canada too. Yum!

France tends to have drier wines - if they have a Vouvray, that's a good French dessert wine. But if you want to buy dessert wines, you'd be much better off buying them in Germany - they will still be from Disney.

And in Italy, there is the Banfi Rosa Regale which is a sparkling red that is AMAZING with chocolate, but wonderful all on it's own. When we were there in November they even had two different sized bottles.

I wish we could be so lucky! We have Publix but in TN they don't sell wine at the grocery store so we still have to special order it from wine shop. It's so worth it though! It's our 'celebration' drink

I tried this at F&W in Oct. and loved it! Do they normally sell it by the glass in Italy?

You know, I'm not sure about in the pavilion itself but it is on the menu at Le Cellier and goes great with their desserts! I think it's also on the menu at Alfredo's but I could be wrong. I just had some at Le Cellier last month.

Not a "wine" but in Italy try the Limoncello. I can't remember what brand they sell, but I've had a handfull of different ones while in Italy and LOVE the stuff. THe best ones are made in Capri or along the Amalfi coast so DEFINITELY try it if they sell any from that region. I have a few bottles at home that I pull out for special occasions. I want to think it was $20 or $30 for the bottle in the Italy pavilion when I looked last year, and since I had a few bottles that I brought home from Italy for around $10 I didn't buy any. But I still recommend it.

In Italy, people will drink a little bit of it after dinner. Cleanses the palate and if you've stuffed yourself it really gets rid of that nauseaus feeling, LOL.

It's VERY strong though - so don't take a big swig unprepared!

Ok, checked out the French wine store yesterday, and as I suspected, there was one dessert wine, a muscat.
