I have to take a dessert to a weekend party and need a recipe for something decadent yet will fit into a 13x9 pan. I need to serve a lot but can't afford to buy a fancy dessert from a bakery. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

PS Chocolate is always good!

I make this one frequently - it is easy to make and is always gone quickly!

My kids love this one too:

This is requested frequently when we bring dessert, but I don't like it as much as the others. It is made in a 9 x 9 pan, though, although you could used boxed brownie mix and make it in a 9 x 13.

Oops - that title got filtered. Also called Trashy Brownies and linked here:

how about a quick and easy banana pudding? I used boxed pudding mix or even the little individual cups of prepared vanilla pudding. A box of vanilla wafers and about 6 sliced bananas.

I do cookies, bananas, pudding in layers and use the leftover cookies (if any) on top

I know you said 9X13, but trifle is always well received!

Or Dirt Cake is always popular. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Dirt-C...arch&event10=1&e7=Recipe&soid=sr_results_p1i1

Ice Cream Sandwich Cake!

Two boxes of ice cream sandwiches, bag of Kit Kats crushed, Cool Whip, Chocolate Syrup.

Fill pan with layer of sandwiches, top with crushed Kit Kats, chocolate syrup and cool whip. Then build a second layer ending with the Cool Whip and Choclate Syrup in pretty swirls.

Everyone loves it and it feeds a lot of people.

But..you will need to keep it in the freezer obviously.

This is THE easiest and cheapest thing I have found, and you will not have any leftovers!

Graham crackers - I think its just one pack (can't recall exactly)
1 large box vanilla pudding but would also be great with pumpkin pudding flavor
1 small tub of cool whip
1 tub of chocolate icing for a cake- or any flavor really

Simple: lay graham cracks out on the bottom of 9 x 13 pan
mix the pudding as directed on box and then mix the finished pudding with the whole tub of cool whip and plop that on top of the graham crackers spreading out evenly. microwave the icing just about 10 second or so -just enough to make it slightly runny and warm but certainly not hot and pour evenly spreading out on top of that cool whip pudding mixture. Throw it in the fridge for just a few minutes (or all day or night depending on how much time you have) then eat. Delicious! Get creative and do this with other flavors of pudding and topping I bet it would be good! BIG HIT!!
This is nice because if you forget to take a dessert somewhere you can really take the ingredients with you and make it in literally a FEW minutes and once it is set up its ready to eat.

Here's one I just received in my inbox -- can't wait to try it! Doubling the recipe would put it in a 9 X 13 pan.

Fresh Pear Ginger Crisp

Ingredients
1 cup crushed gingersnap cookies (about 20 cookies)
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter, softened
7 medium pears (about 2-1/2 pounds), peeled and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Vanilla ice cream, optional

Directions
In a small bowl, combine the first six ingredients. With clean hands,
work butter into oat mixture until well combined. Refrigerate for 15
minutes.

Place pears in a small bowl; add flour and toss to coat. Transfer to
a greased 8-in. square baking dish; sprinkle with oat mixture.

Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until topping is
golden brown and fruit is tender. Serve warm with ice cream if
desired. Yield: 9 servings.

Brownies! I use the Hershey's cocoa recipe for a 9 x 13 pan and they are always a hit. People go crazy over them and they are so easy to make.

tiramisu, simple and delish. Don't have a recipe to hand for quantities, I usually just google it. It is so simple, can be (is even better if) made ahead of time.

In keeping with the season: Pumpkin Dump Cake

Or go fruity, with apple pie or cherry pie filling.
Or blackberry or blueberry too

Just don't use Fruit Cocktail. :crazy2:
We do the dump cake cobbler for dessert on campouts with the scouts, and the cubmaster bought some fruit cocktail to make it with.:sad2: It was soooo icky.
