Dessert Party and Gluten Free

There have been reports in this forum that what they give that is gluten/allergen free is better than what the general public gets.

Anyone else have any experience with having the dessert party gluten free that can reply? I am also interested. We have ressie for 9/8 and I have to say I am a little nervous about it. Thanks in advance.

I have a host of issues. I am wheat, soy, and dairy free. I also can't have honey, agave, high fructose corn syrup and a whole bunch of other stuff.

DH and I did the party on July 3. They brought me out a plate with raspberry sorbet, an assortment of fresh berries, two Enjoy Life chocolate chip cookies, a piece of chocolate cake, a piece of spice cake and some gummy candy. The only thing I didn't like was the spice cake. It was flavorless. However, I did like the icing on the spice cake. DH suggested I swipe that off and make a sandwich using the cookies. That was tasty!

There was someone else near us with an allergy and she got the exact same plate.

Thanks for the reply!! Sounds good. As long as we can have something, then it's worth it!

We were going more for the view. I use a wheelchair, and the fireworks in MK are always a disaster for me. It doesn't matter how long we stake out a spot; inevitably some tall guy stands in front of me and puts his six kids on his shoulders so I see nothing. :( We both said we would do it again just for the low pressure viewing experience. We did have to get up to the fence early, but I was able to position myself so that it would be impossible for someone to stand in front of me. There was a twenty something year old man who
in front of an elderly gentleman in a scooter; that guy got an earful from the older fellow!

My little platter was good. I couldn't eat all of it, so I'm not sure if they offer "refills" of any of the allergy food or not. It was nothing spectacular, but overall the experience was worth the money in our opinions. They need to offer some treats from Babycakes, though!

I'm glad you were able to get a good spot for the fireworks. Some young people have no respect for their elders. He should have moved for the older gentleman. I'm glad he gave him an earful :rotfl:

It would be great if they used some of the Babycakes stuff. I've had that last time we were there. I'm not expecting to eat a whole plateful like you got. I'm not that big of an eater, just nice to have choices in case you don't like something. Like your case with the spice cake. I don't think I would like that either. Not my thing.

I was thinking I may need wheelchair this time, but gonna try without it and just take our time with a lot of breaks. I may need spine surgery so any sitting, standing or walking for any period of time can be quite uncomfortable for me. I know people aren't always respectful of people who aren't mobile or have disabilities. Some people should think more and be happy it is not them that needs a little extra help in form of a chair or scooter or just in their slower mobility.

Thanks again for your thoughts.
