Despicable Me - OPEN! (Official OPEN July 2,2012)

OK, I know some people think Soarin' is the best ride ever. I think it's an OK 2 minute film with a fan and some air freshener.

I'm sure Dueling Dumbos will be spectacular.

Easy there Red-4...Don't be "Dis'n" my favorite Ride/Attraction in Orlando!!! (actually 4:41...and worth every second..IMO)...;)

We LOVE both WDW and US/IOA...Can't imagine Orlando without them both!

99% of the time i ignore comments that will change a thread off course into another direction.

every once in awhile, a comment bashing the darkside rides/park will appear out of nowhere over here.

the statement has nothing to do with the thread topic.

facts are you don't see homies posting in the darkside forums outright bashing the motherland.

many homies go to other theme parks on occasion or regularly.
many enjoy both theme parks.

a new poster on this side of the boards, might talk about their experience at UO being disappointing, or unhappy over their expectations in the park.
but they rarely state it in a way to antagonize the other posters.

one liners usually don't show up in threads.

i read a lot on the motherland forums and i see a lot of darkside bashing.
it doesn't bother me at all.
i don't get involved in those discussions. why try to stir the pot? nothing to gain.

some peeps do not want to hear what universal offers in threads at the motherland forums. they want to discuss disney things.
i read them to find new information that will help me.

i love going to the darkside.
and there are things i enjoy at the motherland a lot.

1. Yes, Soarin is overrated.
2. Dueling Dumbos has a great new look, but the queue doesn't appeal to everyone.

No worries, I'm just an *** :)

And my point was, Disney doesn't have a ride that can compare to Spiderman, even though they've had over a decade to come up with something.

They've come up with great things in the past decade.

I, for one, am GLAD that Disney doesn't have an attraction like Spiderman... or MiB... or HP....

And I'm GLAD that Universal doesn't have anything like Expedition Everest..... Kilimanjaro Safaris... Haunted Mansion.... Test Track

Variety, people, is the spice of life and what keeps me going back to both WDW and US/IOA. :thumbsup2

Release from Universal Orlando

"Minion recruits: mark your calendars! Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, one of the most anticipated theme park attractions of 2012, will officially open at Universal Orlando Resort on July 2.
This brand-new ride combines the outrageous humor and memorable characters of Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's blockbuster film, "Despicable Me," with an all-new storyline, incredible new animation and the latest 3-D technology to create a wildly hysterical theme park experience.
Families will watch in amazement as they are transformed into minions, laugh together as they train to join Gru's minion army and boogie down during the world's-first minion-inspired dance party. Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is hilarious and heartwarming fun for the entire family.
The ride begins when guests enter Gru, Margo, Edith and Agnes' home and learn they are being recruited to become minions. After picking up 3-D "minion goggles" in the living room and being scanned for "human germs" in the Minionization Prep Room, guests board Minion Transformation Pods to begin their training. Things don't go as planned, and guests find themselves on an unforgettable adventure through Gru's lab that's filled with laughter, chaos and tons of minions.

The ride experience is capped off with an exciting dance party where guests can show off their best moves with the minions. With a sparkling disco ball hanging overhead, the interactive celebration features large projection screens so that guests can see themselves partying with the minions to the legendary disco tune "Boogie Fever."

Although Despicable Me Minion Mayhem officially opens on July 2, the attraction is now in technical rehearsal, meaning park guests may have the opportunity to experience the ride as a work in progress while Universal puts the finishing touches on the experience. Leading up to the grand opening, the attraction will run select days and times."

According to Universal Orlando's Facebook Page,

"Minion recruits, assemble! It’s the news you’ve all been waiting for: Despicable Me Minion Mayhem will officially open on July 2!

The attraction is currently in technical rehearsal, meaning guests will get to experience what is a work in progress as we put the finishing touches in place on the ride. Operating times will not be announced - so if you’re in Universal Studios you could catch a sneak peek of the outrageousness that Gru and the minions have in store for you prior to July 2.

Prepare to be minionized!"

Well said. I think everyone knows that both parks are different Universal is Universal, Disney is Disney. I, personally, love Disney and will forever...but I love Harry Potter more and that's why most of my recent vacations are at the darkside. I didn't want to continue the feud just wanted to commend you on your outlook of both parks! :)
