Despicable me and Spiderman refurb 2012

We are going to Universal in early June and wondered whether Despicable Me will be open by then and whether the Spiderman attraction's HD refurb will be done. Checked the official site and it just says in 2012 but no date.

Cast Members are saying Despicable me should be ready in January or February. Were not sure about Spiderman, but it will most likely open when DM does.

Wow that would be awesome! I guess I was thinking summer time for Despicable Me and was worried we would miss it. I really hope it gets a late winter/spring opening!

Hmmm...I'm not sure DM will be ready by then. Remember Jimmy Neutron closed in August so you're talking six months for a major redo of the space...doesn't sound possible. I would think Universal is going to stick with their original plan of mid-2012 for opening...just in time for the summer season.

I agree. I haven't heard anything about an early spring opening.

The new enterance is almost complete. I'd say a March or April opening.

Is DM going to use the same motion platform(s) that Jimmy Neutron used? That one made me sick far more than did any of the coasters.

the ride/attraction prior to jimmy neuton was on the same style platform.


i have no idea how the new attraction will be presented.

kind of have to think of the room they have available for DM that is coming in.


maybe it will be similar as the other two rides/attractions that have been in that spot?
