Hi Everyone!

This is my first post on the weddings/honeymoons board and I'm hoping to get some great advice from all of you Disney brides and Disneymooners out there...

My fiance and I got engaged in WDW during our vacation in May. :bounce: WDW is a very special place for us as we started dating in Disney. (It's a looonnng story and I won't bore you with all the details.) We have been back to WDW every year since we started dating and have taken 4 trips in 4 years. We have tried vacationing elsewhere, (mountains, beaches, etc.) but always end up disappointed because "it wasn't as much fun as Disney". :earsboy: :earsgirl:

So now on to my dilemna: we have set the date for the wedding (6/18/05) and are working on the wedding plans. As much as I would like to get married in WDW, it just isn't in the cards for us
:(

When we started talking about the honeymoon, however, I naturally assumed that we would be headed back to our favorite spot. :hyper: Afterall, it seems like I have been waiting my whole life to wear those Minnie bride ears princess:

But, it seems that my fiance has other plans. He informed me that he doesn't WANT to go back to WDW for our honeymoon :earseek:  :( It seems he wants to go somewhere different, somewhere we've never been before, to make it "special".

I am crushed! I have always wanted to honeymoon in Disney and every time we go I'm always so jealous of the other couples who are there sporting their bride/groom ears. I can't imagine taking a trip anywhere else that would be as special to us.

So...I need help from all of you. How do I convince my fiance that our honeymoon in Disney WILL be special, even though we've been there before?

Sorry for the long post...I'm just really bummed. :(

Why don't yall consider a Disney Cruise? That way you can get the best of both worlds! And you could still have a romantic getaway via the cruise!

Oh and I just want to add my congrats to you both! I'm sure where ever ya'll end up it will be special!

How about a 3 or 4 day cruise on the Disney Wonder and a few days at WDW. The Magic will be in CA so you can't do the 7 night. When I got engaged I wanted to go somewhere romantic that I had never been to...Hawaii! Fiance wanted Scottland, so we decided to take a two week honeymoon and do WDW and the cruise, and for our 1st anniversary we would do something else. We will be taking the 14 day repo cruise from CA to FL through the Panama Canal for our 1st anniversary. What I would do is talk to him about how special it is to you, then listen to why somewhere new is important to him, after all marriage is about compromises. I am sure you can come up with something. But how could your honeymoon be any less special if you are somewhere else. And if you go to WDW almost every year, chances are that you will be returning there anyway and if it's still important to you to wear the ears, then go ahead and wear the ears, it can be your 2nd honeymoon. You will have much harder decisions to make planning your wedding that you will have to compromise on so remember this is not something to get stressed over, believe me! I am getting married in less than 3 months and I will be estatic when it's here and over and I will be ready to honeymoon anywhere that my new husband will be.

Hope this helps a little!

If he doesn't go for the Disney cruise, try the Paris Disney. Or a regular cruise and a day or two at Disney. Did he say what "different" thing he wanted to do?
