just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. I had pcs (towers and laptops) for years, from dells and gateways to building my own overclocked boxes. I don't know if I'm just hard on them, but I was replacing them on an average of one ever 1 1/2 years. When apple finally came out with the intel macs, I thought what the heck, I'll try it, and got my self the first original MacBook. It's been solid, stable, and after over four(!) years running like a champ. In fact, I've been so happy with it that I just got myself a new MacBook pro! I'll never run windows again at home if I can help it.
Yes, we all know you paY a premium for a mac, but the build quality on them is far and away superior to anybody else out there. I figured I acually saved a lot of $$ because I wasn't constantly upgrading or replacing components.
