WDW has great Character meals, but for those of us who have done them all, we need some new ones. If you could "design your own" what would you do.

Lilo and Stitch character meal in a beach setting or a Lilo and Stitch Luau. This could be at the Polynesian or perhaps the Beach Club.

The Toy Story Character Meal. These characters would fit in nicely with the outdoorsy feel of the Wilderness Lodge.

Build a restaurant in Toontown and have the Donald and Daisy Character Meal. These two have taken a "backseat to Mickey and Minnie" for way too long.

You get the idea? I could go on forever. The same characters seem to be shown a lot at WDW's Character Meals. We love Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale, and of course all of the Princesses, but Disney needs to get creative and come up with some new ones.

So maybe some of you have some similar thoughts on the matter. Share your ideas here "just for fun". No disrespect meant to the "powers that be" at Disney.

How about a Genie/Aladdin/Jasmine where everyone would sit on pillows and dine on short coffee tables? (I know, it would not be comfortable for everyone and could be messy but sounds fun doesn't it?) :)

What a great idea, didn't think of that one. Disney has so many great characters, it seem to me that they are "stuck in a rut" with offering us the same ones over and over. Or perhaps they feel they have to stick with the "tried and true". Changing character meals, is probably a risky thing for the planners, if a new idea would bomb, but it is fun to imagine how a few of our own ideas might turn into "Great Times".

Let me take you there!

A huge "Under the Sea" restaurant...have one portion where it looks like water all around you and Sebastian, Flounder, and the mermaid folks can be seen...then have Eric's ship on the second floor where you can see Ariel (human form) and Prince Eric welcoming you to their galley. They could place it where the old 20,000 leagues under the sea ride was and have the ship floating on top of the water so you could eat outdoors on deck if you wanted to. My daughter's LOVE Ariel and would love to dine with her.

Great Thread!

We think MGM is sorely missing a 'House of Mouse'! It would be a total surprise, as ANY character could show up there along with Mickey!

You read my mind! Every time I watch the "House of Mouse", which I love. I think that Disney ought to have it's own House of Mouse. Why is it that we can have these good ideas but the "powers that be" at Disney don't? Or maybe they do but decide that it is not "cost effective. Wouldn't it be fun to eat at our own House Of Mouse? No offense to the Hoop De Doo, I have never been, but a House of Mouse with characters sounds like a lot of fun and could have all its waiters named "goofy". They don't necessarily have to be in costume, that would be too hard for them to serve, but their names could all be goofy, whether male or female. What do you think?

Keep all your fantasies coming, I know there are a lot of good ideas out there.

They need one geared more towards boys..Buzz Lightyear or something like that.

Donald & Daisy Duck....they are hardly EVER around..I'd like to see one with them.

They need one with the cartoon characters from PLayhouse Disney: JoJo, Higglytown Heros, The Wiggles, Bear, etc.

villains! it could be near the haunted mansion or the ToT.

another cool one, could be something with robin hood or sword in the stone... I always liked those movies.

Well, I know this is not "traditional Disney" but I think that is the idea here right? Since Disney recently got the rights to Jim Hensons mupets, how about a Muppet character breakfast at MGM at H&V, they already got the 3D show. They could do a Beauty and the Beast meal in France. For boys they should do one with Aladdin, Genie and maybe Goofy & Donald dressed up in some Arabian outfits and have it in Morocco. They should have a breakfast at the Coral reef in Epcot and some how have the characters from Nemo and Little Mermaid swim by.
This if kinda different, but at the Sci-fi dine in they should have an after park hours Diner and a Movie and show a different Disney movie each night.
Wow this is cool, I could be an Imagineer! (did I spell that right?)

I would love a Beauty & The Beast meal. When you walk in they would sing "Be our guest, be our guest"! We could put their service to the test. Teapot & chip would be the greeters. She'll be bubbling, she'll be brweing. :)
We could just tie a napkin around our necks & they'd do the rest! :) The dishes would sing & dance. :) It would be such fun! :)

That would be my dream character meal. :)

I guess my dream character breakfast would be a place called "The Club". It would be decorated from floor to ceiling with memorabilia from the old Mickey Mouse Club and feature a huge screen set as a stage showing all of the old reruns of the show. Each day would have a theme just as the show had and the character would be actual waiters and waitresses dressed like the original cast with the nametags and everything. I think that would be fun. Does that make any sense??

I also think a restaurant that serves as a salute to the classic Disney live movies (Shaggy Dog, Absent Minded Professor, Pete's Dragon, Herbie, Parent Trap, The Monkey's Uncle, Johnny Tremain, etc) would bring in the crowd that remembers all of these movies. I don't think this is an outdated idea...I'm only 25 but remember watching all of these movies on video and I miss these aspects greatly on Disney Channel, WDW, etc.

I guess these aren't necessarily character experiences but I would have fun at them! :teeth:

There is a fabulous Lilo and Stitch breakfast at Disneyland. If they could just import it to O'hana's it would be perfect. The interaction was so good and the food was good and the kids danced with Stich and Minnie and Goofy and Lilo all in Hawaiian outfits.

My daughter still sings the hukilau song she learned there.

It was the BEST character meal I have ever had (I include CRT, PSB, CP, 1900 Princesses, Chef Mickey, H&V etc.)

Bring along Dreamfinder and Figment! They should be able to fit in almost any setting, as Figment is a figment of Imagination!

Oh wow what great ideas, I liked all of them. Agree Daisy and Donald are never around. I would love a playhouse disney one too. But I think my favorite would have to be a villian dinner near the haunted mansion. Spooky and dark in side. Cruella serving coffee, heaven!

I second the Villians. By the Haunted Mansion would add to the spookyness(I think i made up that word) We rarely see any villians in the parks so this meal would be great!!  :cloud9:

You guys all have such great ideas. My son would LOVE one geared more towards boys !! Of course Toy Story , Stitch, Pinochio, Incredibles. We are always telling him we are going to see Pooh and Frieds, the princesses , ect :rotfl:

I loved someone else's idea of the Beauty and the Beast character meal !! That WOULD be a dream character meal for me !! :cloud9:

Also LOVE the idea of "The Mickey Mouse Club" - I am surprised they haven't thought of this already. They would probably have a lot of people coming to that one. The other one i would love was also the one with the classic old Disney Movies I grew up with. Pete's Dragon, Herbie, Old yeller (although that might me a little much for dinner) , Follow Me Boys !!

I am excited just thinking about these !!

I would love to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto and Daisy! Where is Daisy? I would love to see Daisy! I haven't seen her since I went to Donalds 50th or 60th birthday can't remember I was only 9yrs.old princess: princess:

Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc. - that should be a riot - there's that great restaurant scene in the movie too which they could take ideas from!

Kermit, Miss Piggy and Gonzo.

Also Buzz and Woody along with many other Toy Story characters! Why doesn't this exist?!

The Incredibles crew.

I agree with the notion that MGM needs to bring back a character meal. We went to H and V back in 2002 when they still had characters and we really enjoyed it. I think this would be a great place to have the Heroes character meal that they are rumored to be working on. I also think Lilo and Stitch should be at the Ohana character breakfast. It just doesn't make sense to me not to take advantage of that connection. As popular as character meals are, I feel they should put more of them in the parks, and even in some of the moderatre resort restaurants that don't seem to get a whole lot of business.
