desert inn?

are the beds so bad? Should i look for other hotels? what are the ones right next to it?

Do a search for the hotel on the boards here, you find that a number of people have posted about this place..basically clean and nothing fancy.

I find the beds absolutely just right.

So, maybe it's all relative to what your opinion of a mattress should feel like. I don't know how high or low my standards are relative to the rest of the population, but FWIW, I could never sleep on a padded floor or the couch. And our bed at home was purchased by DH after much research and a nice amount of money, so I would guess that my standards are not on the lower end.

ty and yes i did some searchs here, i just read about how bad the beds might be and started worrying but its closest and cheapest and holds us all so i got stick with it.

I think you'll be fine. I sleep on a (not cheap) pillowtop at home, and though the beds aren't as comfy as that, I don't have trouble sleeping on them (neither does anyone else in my group, hence the repeat visits indicated in my signature).

I find the beds to be very uncomfrontably hard.

If you are a back sleeper, then you should be okay. If you are a side sleeper (like I am) they are deffiently to hard/firm.

we stayed in a c1 suite almost 2 years ago. I do think the beds are firm, but they weren't hard to me (I can't sleep on hard - it keeps me up and my body aches). I thought they were quite comfortable and I have a pillowtop at home. I do sleep on my back/side. I even tried to find the brand of the mattress while we were there because I liked the bed - but they had a cover on the entire thing and I wasn't going to hassle with taking it off. I did call before we booked and they told me all of the beds were recently replaced - so things may have changed over the last few years.

We've stayed there several times, most recently in 2009. I don't recall noticing anything in particular about the beds, which must mean they weren't too hard or too soft. The thing that always strikes me about the Desert Inn is that it's much nicer on the inside than the outside. From the outside, it doesn't look like much at all. But the rooms are fairly nice and well-maintained. To me, the major drawbacks are that they now charge for parking, and parking is very tight.

ty both of you for the good reviews. One place wanted 200+ so ya we will stay here i am gona say we will make it even if they are hard its better to stay some where cheaper and spend money in park

I think you'll be fine. It used to be our go to spot. Now we do Hojo if I can get the EC rate but DI&S is one of the first spots we check when we start planning.
The kid and I both sleep on our side/tummy and don't have nay issue sleeping their beds.

I'm a side sleeper and had absolutely no problems. I came there from the Grand Californian in 2010 and liked the Desert Inn beds much better.

It was fine for us for a night or two...and then it became miserable. Going to bed was not relaxing in the slightest.

The location is fabulous though.
