Just wondering if anyone has had luck finding any low airfare out of DSM to MCO? We have been watching fares for our trip in Sept and they are practically double those of Kansas City (and Minneapolis is just about as bad)! We are about 4 hrs from KC and 2 from DSM and MSP, we just can't seem to justify that an extra 2 hrs in the car (not long to us) isn't worth saving the extra $500! Anyone? Thanks in advance!

hobbittravel.com is advertising Fall Family Fares to Orlando out of MSP. The first person pays $199, the second pays $169, the third pays $139, the fourth pays $109, etc. So for a family of four the tix average $154. We did this in May and our tix were $194 with taxes, etc. It was a direct flight on Sun Country.

thanks for the info, i checked into it and it would still be about $60 more than KC and thats not counting the parking and hotel the nite before. I have found the rate of $468 for our 3 tix out of KC (including taxes, etc) and we haved stayed at a hotel there for about 50/nite and it has free parking while u are gone. I guess we'll look into that unless something really great comes along! :D

When we went in 2001, we flew out of Moline and saved nearly $200 a ticket. The ride home was 1.5 hours. It's not that bad even though we didn't get home till nearly 1 am. We were still very excited about the trip and DH and I talked and DS and DD fell into comas :) If I couldn't get good rates, I would drive to Chicago. Lots of people around here do.
