deposit refund issue

We had to cancel our Dec trip, I had advised reservations that we did not want the trip insurance when I made the reservation, well when I called in they stated that we had the insurance and that they were going to charge us for the insurance and what would be left would be deposited back to my card. I again told the person that I did not want the insurance and that it had been added on without my permission, he told me that I could speak to a supervisor and I told him that I would be happy to, then he put me on hold and came back to the phone, he stated that he had spoken to the supervisor and that they were going to take the insurance off of the reservation and refund the entire deposit. I thanked him, and hung up. Well I checked my account today and they did refund my reservation but only 66.00 worth, they still charged me for the insurance :mad: I called reservations again today and they are down so nothing can be done about it. :headache:
 
bummer about having to cancel your Dec trip. I hope that once reservations is back up they can work this out to your satisfaction!
 
Thank you! I am confident that it will work out, I was bummed too about having to cancel, but hopefully we will be able to go in the spring :)
 
Don't let this go - tell the supervisor that you want them pull the call from the date of the reservation if necessary- that's why you have to ok that "your call is recorded for quality control purposes"
 

When I booked my trip they emailed me my itinerary. Was the trip insurance on your itinerary? If so, you are probably out of luck. If it was not on there, I would ask where to fax it or email to and let them know you did not have it on there when you made the reservation. Good luck, let us know how you make out.
 
you know im going to be honest, I made the reservation back in the summer, I knew that I had a while before our trip, I didn't even look at the reservation email all the way, just kinda skimmed it, and I have made so many of them in the past and had never had an issue. So I have to go back and look, but I did tell the CM at reservations that I did not want the insurance, we have never had it/used it and now especially after "Ray" told me that he was able to take it off yesterday, I expect it to be taken off, I will have to wait and see what happens in the morning.
 
They told me that it was processed in a different way for some reason, but yes it will be refunded.

Let me just say that in no way would I have asked them to take the insurance off if I had added it when I made the reservation, I should have looked at my email closer when I got it and I will make sure that I do so next time.

Yeah! Great news! That's one of the reasons we keep coming back to WDW. There customer service is just awesome!
 
Glad it worked out for you! I never get Disney ins either, but they sure like to push it. We tend to gettrip ins. withaother comapny because it covers more, including our flights.
