Has anyone ever experienced a dental issue onboard? I assume the onboard doctor can't help but is there anything DCL can do to assist you? DH Is in pain and we board today. Not sure if the pain will just pass. Wondering whether we risk getting onboard or we try to get to a dentist in Vancouver.

If you have the time I would try to find a dentist in Vancouver just in case you can't get any help on the ship.

I take it you are doing Alaska, we did it last year. You will love it. Hope he gets sorted.

I agree to try to find a dentist n Vancouver or your 1st port of call........I am sure the vessel could get the ships agent in the 1st port of call to set up a dentist appt. Good Luck!

I agree with the recommendation to find a dentist in Vancouver if it all possible. If your husband's dental pain is from an infection, the dentist can get him started on antibiotics and provide some pain medication. This will make your cruise much more enjoyable. Perhaps your hometown dentist, or your dental insurance company if you have one, could provide recommendations for dentists in Vancouver.

Have you contacted DCL's emergency number? Try it, they may be able to help, or refer you to a dentist. Alternately, ask your hotel concierge for a referral.

Do try to find a dentist in Vancouver. Keep your receipts so you can make a claim on your insurance. Make sure you have enough medication for your cruise and keep the meds in their original containers (you are crossing international borders).

FYI my DH had a problem with his teeth that occurred during a Caribbean cruise on a HAL ship. We did not want to go to a local dentist at one of the ports. We were very lucky because we were able to use HAL's onboard dentist, as apparently they only had a dentist available every second cruise.

I don't believe there is a Dentist in Skagway, so the first opportunity to see a dentist after leaving Vancouver would be four days later in Juneau.

Just searched there is a Dentist in Canada Place.

The ship should be able to treat your husband for pain and advise you about where to be seen by a dentist if necessary.
Obviously the ships crew will need dental treatment from time to time.
I hope you get it worked out.

This was several years ago but I recall when my friends cruised with Disney their young daughter had an unexpected dental issue after they boarded. DCL gave them a listing of dentist at the next port which was a few days away considering they where on the EBTA cruise. While my friends waited to reach the next port she told me the cast members where great... They blended meals for their daughter and provided aspirin.
