Denny's on harbor blvd near Disneyland

We've simply grown used to the Disney prices. :) We have, however, eaten at Mimi's and Millie's, and might try them again on this upcoming trip. We've also eaten at Coco's. But I have a feeling that all of those meals have been dinner. Hmm.

I've heard repeatedly that the IHOP is THE most expensive IHOP in the country. Yikes.

We tend to have a rental car, at least for one day, and go to Vons and Trader Joes to pick up the things we really need to have with us (DH and DS have limited diets beyond our family's vegetarianism), and also for water.

At WDW you almost have to eat on property!, your just to far away to eat off property.

You've GOT to get out to Sweet Tomatoes next time you visit WDW! Delicious. :) It's across the street from DTD.

Thanks for all your suggestions... Will help me a lot...but no one know for sure if this Denny's has the kids eat free promotion on tuesday or saturday nights??? Would love to hear from people who went there and asked for it.... Will be spending 6 days at Disneyland so I'll be in restaurant a lot...Coming from Quebec, Canada and we don't have Denny's in my area so would like to give it a try by curiosity.

Have you tried calling the number (it was posted previously in this thread and it must be on the webpage) to ask for a specific answer?

We found that the Denny's and Millie's had similar prices to DL.

My mom wanted a hot breakfast one morning (the free one at BWPPI wasn't good enough after the DCL) so we ate at Denny's. We both had coffee with our breakfast and it cost just over $20. We went to Millie's and both ordered chicken burgers with our choice of two items on it and water to drink and it cost just over $20. The burger came with lots of fries and we could have split one as neither of us were able to finish the burger and fries. We also ate at Denny's for dinner one night too. The cost of the salad was similar to the one at Pacific Warf but wasn't in a sourdough bowl.

I've been there twice, food and service was awful both times.

I've been there much more than twice and I've never felt the food or service were awful.

I've been to this Denny's several times, and I consider it no worse than any other Denny's. It is ALWAYS busy though, so you may wait a bit. As far as the kids eat free, their web page says "KIDS EAT FREE between 4 pm and 10 pm. Restrictions may apply. Ask your server for details. Days of this offer may vary. " You may wish to call to check the days. ((714) 776-3300)

Also note, their prices are $1-2 more per plate than most Denny's.

Really? I've always paid about the same price as we do at the Denny's here, never noticed prices were different. hmmmmmm I'll have to compare next time. :)

also check out the IHOP promations, sometime they also have kids eat for free:thumbsup2

IHOP is way more expensive then Denny's is. We ate there (family of 4) and we spent about $50, just entrees and drinks, no appetizers or desserts! Thought that was ridiculous! IHOP is way overpriced IMO.

We really like Mimi's MUCH better than Ihop or Dennys! It is actually cheaper and you get better and more food! They also bring a muffin and banana/zucchini bread basket to the table which the family loves! Kids meals are great prices as are adults meals! We feel the food is excellent and we love it here!

Yes, Mimi's is the way to go!! Definitely our favorite for outside the park breakfasts! Heck, even for meals. lol

Ya that's true but i don't have AP discount, and what discounts are available? i have not heard of any in park discounts on meals. That would be great.
I am Not saying Denny's and other places like it is not the greatest but for there selection and for both the kids and the parents its still hard to compete with what Disney can offer. Now Don't get me wrong I love eating in side the park, and would rather do that, i will use cafe Orleans as a example, they have my fav sandwich in the world, the Monty cristo 17.99??? throw in my soup 8.99. Now I will cough up the money for my obsession LOL. No wrong choice everyone does whats best just would like if Disney could ease up a little, but there there to make a buck to just wishful thinking!

DBF and I order a MC and a bowl of gumbo, sometimes I also order the small salad on the menu, then we share. :) I would love it if CO would offer a cup of soup with an entree but no, just a full bowl.

My kids are too old to qualify for the kids eat free promo so no, I have no answer for that. But it doesn't hurt to ask, and remember to ask for the $2, $4, $6, $8 menu, as a PP said there are quite a few good items on that menu!

I had dinner at this Denny's and it was actually one of the best meals we had in Anaheim. Better than any other Denny's I've been too. Mimi's breakfast was okay, if I wasn't staying near it, like at the HOJO, I wouldn't wander over there for it.

I called the Denny's on Harbor, across the street from Disneyland, and they do not offer the Kids Eat Free program. I called the 2 on Katella and the one further down on Harbor, and none of them participate. Sorry.

what about Capt Bill's? from what I read Its like a buffet, pretty reasonable prices through:cool1:.

We just came home from Disney on sept 19th. One of those 2 restaurants (either inoperable or Denny's) had kids eat free from 4-10 while we were there. I'm not sure what days it was limited to the restaurant actually has a big sign when you go in that advertises this. Sorry I'm not more help than that!

You mean Captain Kidd's?? Where is the puking emoticon?:crazy2:

Yep Cat Kidd's, sorry:upsidedow, thanks:thumbsup2.. I believe you, but its my self(Disney Dad) and my 19yo DS. For a quick meal, you would not believe where we have eaten and what and all it good.:sad2:. we will more then likely still go, but we will keep a eye open, thanks

TBH we did not find park food to be as high as we were expecting. I did do a lot of research checking out the menus/reviews ahead of time so I would have a good idea of where we would get good food for good value park wise.

We did do a big splurge having a late lunch at the BB. We had breakfast included with the concierge package at our hotel so we ate Breakfast, had a mid morning snack (we shared a pretzel and almonds) and the late lunch was our big meal of the day. That meal set us back $150, but i would do it again as our one special meal.

We ate at the harbour front restaurant across from the HM a couple of times. One day we ordered 2 of the soups in the bread bowls. One for myself and DD (12) one for DH and DS (8) Had the soup served on the side and broke the bread up to dip in the soup. It was a huge amount of food! No way could I have finished one on my own. That cost $20. Less than a meal at McD's!

We also had the baked potatoes from there one day. They were I think $6-$7 dollars and huge! DH liked the chilli cheese and the kids and I liked the broccoli cheese. It was around $25 for all of us.

Of course we had corn dogs from the corn dog castle one day for lunch. Again around $25 for all 4 of us. We had the chilli cone quesos for lunch at the cozy cones one day, $30. The sandwiches at the hungry bear were good and not very pricy, $40 for lunch with sides and a couple drinks.

I carried snacks like granola bars, dried apples and almonds. We brought our own water bottles. We had one mid-day-ish meal in the park. We usually had a special treat or snack in the afternoon. Those were the pricey things! But we budgeted in money for treats so we could get them. We did not do that last time and I regretted it after.

The general rule of thumb was to try and get things only available at the DLR. Mickey shaped pretzels, ice cream bars, beignets, and things like dole whip, etc. This made it a real treat and very special. popcorn::

So check out the park menus and have a game plan. You might be surprised and how little the difference is between eating in park and off site.

We usually go to the Denny's a couple of times each trip. We really like the Everyday Value Slam (2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 sausage or bacon) on their 2-4-6-8 menu for $4. Personally, I only like Denny's (anywhere, not just this location) for breakfast food, if I want a sandwich I'll head to Subway or Quizno's and if I just need to fill up on something cheap, McDonalds (most hotels have 10% off coupons for McD's in with their attraction fliers).

As far as I know (and I've been there quite a bit) there is no kids eat free promo at the Denny's on Harbor.
