Deluxe vs Moderate

We have stayed at a Deluxe resort the two times we have been. We stayed one night in 1997 at CBR because were were bumped by a golf tournament from the GF. I am wondering if anyone has gone from staying in deluxe resorts to moderate resorts and been disappointed? Which moderate would you suggest? I am just trying to keep the cost down as my family is getting older and these trips are becoming expensive.

The grounds have the feel of a deluxe.....here are some pics of the landscaping....

Good luck with your decision!

We have never stayed at a Deluxe, but Caribbean Beach is our favorite moderate! Its just nice to have the beaches all around, and there are a ton of pools, so finding a quiet spot to relax with your family is not difficlult.

We actually like CBR better than WL and AKL where we've stayed before. We aren't TS restaurant people, so we don't miss that, and we really like the food court at CBR's Old Port Royale. We also have found CBR to be quieter -- at least when we're in our rooms.

More pools, more beaches, shorter walks to the bus stations.... just a lot of things we like.

We have stayed in values, moderates and deluxes.
Of course the deluxes are great. But I will not hesitate to stay in a moderate either. I think any resort depends on the guest needs and how much time they will actually be at the resort. Deluxes we have more of a tendency to stay at the resort and enjoy it. Values, we are always in the parks.
We have a CSR stay coming up. I would have liked to try FQ just for something different. But I can esily live with CSR. :cool1:

CSR!! It offers some deluxe amenities like a spa, fitness center, salon, full menu room service and more. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

I think the biggest difference is the double beds.....and that you
have to walk outside.

If you don't mind that.....I think you will be pleasantly surprised...

We have stayed at all three--value, moderate, deluxe...and in different orders. We prefer the moderate. Our children (age 21 and 19) no longer go with us. As both boys are in college, we cannot justify the expense for a deluxe with paying over $40,000 a year for tuition/room and board. We love the CSR out of all of the moderates and where we stayed this year and will stay again next year.

I think I am going for a moderate. DH who is slightly over 6'-3" will have deal with dble. bed. Thanks for all of your inputs. CSR looks really good. Does anyone know is the rooms fill-up prior to the reservations openining up for the packages?

When we go down we stay at Port Orleans Riverside. The landscaping has won awards. It is beautiful. Very calming. They have boats down to Downtown Disney which is great. We have always had wonderful service there. And they have a great evening entertainer there!
