Has anyone stayed at the WL in the deluxe rooms? I know they only have a few, any particular location better than another? Also, does the WL have a place to buy baby things (diapers, jarred baby food, etc.) or should I just take my own. I'm sure it will be cheaper that way anyway! Also do they have bed rails for toddlers, microwaves, and/or fridges? I have a lot of questions, I know - I am a harried mom of 2! Wondering if I'm crazy to bring an almost-3 year old and 9 month old to Disney?!?!?? Thanks for any and all help!

I can't answer any of the baby answers but I have stayed in the Deluxe room ( Jr Suite). It is a very interesting room. The decore is pretty much the same as the regular rooms. It is layet out interesingly with a small living room that includes a table with two chairs, a pullout couch, to upholstered chairs on either side of a console with a TV and a window above each chair, a sligding glas door onto a balcony a wetbar with fridge and icemaker and a set of french doors with sheer curtains that leads into the bedroom where there are two queen beds a armoire for some of your cloths and one with a TV, many windows and a glass door onto a standing room only balcony. In the entry hall is a nice size closet with iron and ironing board. You can enter the vanity area from the bedroom or the entry hall and then the bathroom from the vanity. These rooms are located on the ends of the wings closest to the lake and farthest from the lobby. There are 4-5 of them on a section halfway down one of the wings that overlook the pool and waterfall area that are closer to the lobby. We had one of these midway rooms. I really loved this room alot. It is only 500 square feet but is divided nicely. I shared it with Ma and Pa so the one bathroom worked out fine. If you are putting the max amount of people (6) in than the one bath might not be enough.

thanks for the great info. There will only be four of us, my DH, DD and DS. I'm sure there will be plenty of room. Did you by any chance see the fireworks from your room? If not, where's the best place to go in the WL to see them. Thanks again!! :)

Hi
Can't share any info on the deluxe rooms as I've never stayed in one, but have been to WL 5 times with kids from 5 months up to 5 years.....

They sell diapers at the Mercantile, however they are small packs of 8 or 10 for about $7. I'd imagine they have a very limited amout of jarred food in a pinch. When we travel with the little ones, I bubble wrap all of my jarred food, planning for each day so I don't have much leftover. Then I ship a box about a week before that contains all of my baby items that won't be coming home: food, dipaers, snacks for the toddler, wipes, disposable bibs, disposable changing pads, etc. It will be waiting for you when you get there and you won't have to lug a big heavy box through the airport. I am assuming you are not renting a car. If you are you can go to the grocery store when you get there to purchase these items. Also if you use Tiffany Towncar service for your transfer, they will provide a half hour grocery stop. We have done all of the above.

As far as the ages go, I've done it a bunch of times, just take it slow, return to hotel in the afternoon for naps, and have a great time....

I'd highly recommend bringing a double stroller, or at least a stroller for each. My DD was 2.5 on our first trip and we used the stroller everywhere we went, even around the resort. Also a snugli or sling for the baby is a must for waiting in lines, etc....

Have a great time!

That's a great idea Kate-n-Sam. Thanks. How do you ship the stuff ahead of time? Just address it to yourself with your date of arrival on the package? No we are not renting a car. Getting a taxi from the airport I think because it will be quicker than the bus. We are planning to do the parks from 8 - 12 each day, then heading back for the rest of the day at the hotel. MAYBE catch the 3 pm parade but I doubt it. And yes each child will have the travel stroller. WIth a double stroller they'd be tied to each other and it will be easier if we can go separate ways at some points.

They do have bed rails and pack and plays (I'd bring your own sheets though). They have fridges available for a fee of 5-7/day, which adds up....we buy or ship a styro cooler, and just change the ice each day. Not sure about the microwave. We fill the sink with hot water and let the jar or bottle float around for a couple of minutes, and it's worked fine.

Hope this helps.....

Check out the families board for other great tips for traveling with babies, it was indespensible to me....

We were not able to see the fireworks from that room. The Deluxe rooms on one end of a wing are situated in a grove of cypress trees so wouldn't have a view of the fireworks. You might be able to see them from the top floor deluxe rooms on the wing ends though. We were able to see them from out regular room on the sixth floor the following year.

I called the WL and got the exact adress. Just make sure you put your name, reservation number, and arrival date. They were very accomodating. Sent via UPS. Actually we went with another family and each of us had 9 month olds, we actually shipped like 10 boxes of stuff.

We loved Tiffany towncar, they met us at baggage with a little sign with our name on it and helped us schlep all of our stuff to the car. They were great, and it was about 75 round trip....they also have car seats if you need them, just be sure to reserve in advance.
