Can someone tell me about the "deluxe rooms" at WL? We are 5 people going next november (yes, we are already booking nov. 2008 - and haven't yet gone for THIS november..lol :goodvibes )

My MIL has left it to me to decide b/w a "deluxe" room at WL or a room Sugarloaf Concierge at GF for next year.. What would you pick and WHY?

The grand is beautiful yes,, but it's not my absolute fav -- but the one thing i REALLY like about it, is the monerail access. I have never stayed at GF or WL (We are staying Poly this november), but like i said, my MIL has deemed me to this job of deciding for us (there are 10 of us going all together).

What are the pros/cons you can think of? :confused3 TIA :)

What is the makeup of your five? Is your MIL in the same room? If so, I'd go with WL. But if the 5 is your immediate family, I'd go for SL in a heartbeat.

We've never stayed at WL much less a deluxe room but one SIL stayed in a deluxe room with her husband and 4 kids. They found the rooms to be small and the pictures I've seen on Allears do look small. There is still only one bathroom. There are two beds in the bedroom and then just a sleeper in the living room. At the GF, you would have two queens and a comfortable daybed.

Having breakfast and treats through the day in SL is very nice and very convenient. Love the scones especially.:goodvibes

The monorail and launch are both very convenient to SL...take the monorail to MK and the launch back.

There are more dining options at GF.

Good luck with your decision.

If you book a WL deluxe you do have access to the Concierge lounge at WL, I have heard that is something fairly recent.. I personally did not find the GF rooms to be very spacious. I think that just having the 2 areas at WL would feel more spacious than 1 room at GF.

You are right though, the monorail and boat access to MK is great at GF. You do have the boat and bus at WL though.

I didn't know that the deluxe rooms had club level access. That is nice. How convenient are the deluxe rooms to the lounge?

The deluxe rooms at WL go up to the 6th floor only - concierge is on the 7th floor so you will have to use the elevator. We stayed in the deluxe on the 6th floor a couple years ago and paid extra for concierge access (now it is included). I would never do that again as the deluxe rooms are at the very ends of the hotel - you cannot get any further from concierge and it is quite a walk.

Good to know. Concierge access loses any convenience then IMO.

ahh, great info!! We do NOT want to walk that far to concierge! There will be several kids in our party of 10, and the further away from the convienince of the foods, the less appealing it is to us!!
Actually, my MIL called back and said we would now probably end up back at concierge at Beach Club. So, that is fine. The BC is kinda our second home..lol.. ( this is our fourth year going, and three out of the four years we have stayed at yc/bc, this year it's poly, then i guess for 2008 back to BC). And we LOVE beaches and cream, and the closeness to epcot and the boardwalk.. and Stormalong bay can't be beat! So, who knows.. it's still so far away,
And we may fall head over heels in love with the poly this november! LOL (Which i think would be MY personal fav!!)
