We have only stayed at value & moderate resorts. I love the deluxe resorts (we have visited mostly all of them), but they are 4 times the cost of the value resorts. We probably could swing it financially for our next trip, but is it really worth it? I love fine hotels, but at Disney you are hardly ever at your hotel. I'm dying to stay at the Beach Club...do you think I would regret paying the money?::MinnieMo

In the past we have stayed at the Value Resorts and off-site. Last year, for our first big family vacation with our two DS (6, 4)we went all out and stayed at the Poly, Concierge Lagoon View. It was wonderful. The resort is beautiful and the service was great. The kids loved the lounge and we loved the location. We felt very spoiled. We are now planning a trip for next year and are very torn as to what to do. We would love to go back to the Poly and could certainly afford it, but we also would like to save money for some home remodelling. I will admit that it is hard to justify spending so much on a hotel room (about six times the cost of a Value Hotel), but it is a vacation and you should pamper yourself. It is a personal choice that only you can make. As for us, I am not sure what we will do. Maybe Disney will offer a good AP rate or code that will help. Good luck.

If it wasn't for the available rates, we would probably not stay at the deluxe resorts. When you can get a great rate, it works out fine. Another option for you might be to rent points for a DVC member. That is how we go when we stay at the Boardwalk. Can't beat $99 per night for a room at the Boardwalk Villas (studio) which is what we paid in 2002.

If you'd love to stay at the BC, then stay there. The last thing you want to be doing on vacation is wishing you were somewhere else.

you rent points from a DVC member and stay in the new BCV - it is over behind the BC - well from Epcot side entrance behind -

Sept, Jan, Dec 1-14 - will be around $120 a night - 12 points * $10 a point.
on Sun-thru (leaving Fri)

Over times more expensive and Fri/Sat much more expensive.

just go over on the DVC rental/trade board on this site and see if you can find a bargin ($9 or $8 a point) beware of anyone offering alot less - some people have been taken. also make sure that you are buying a reservation - not points - points won't help you if the DVC member can't get the time you want.

early Dec goes fast - very fast - DVC member can make a reservation 11th months before your date of arrival.

forgot this is a studio - 1 queen bed and a double sleeper sofa (some will have a queen sleeper sofa - DVC is replacing some of them) - also all the stuff of a hotel room - all have balconies, mircowave, under-the-counter refrigerator, coffee maker, toasters, there are some paper plates and bowls , plastic forks, spoons, knives - 4 glasses, 2 mugs.

there is no extra charge for the refrigerator or the microwave.

We have only stayed at the deluxes with discounts. I don't think I could justify paying the rack rate (that's just me). But with a discount it is definately worth it! I would arrange your schedule so you can spend some time enjoying the resort and what it has to offer.

We have found that when we are staying at the deluxes we build in a lot of "hotel time." It is just so nice to take advantage of what the resorts have to offer that we do not feel driven to go to the parks each and every day. This helps us get our money's worth, but I do agree with other posters that I would not pay rack rate for anything! Our trips have always been discounted on come-back rates or codes, in the days when codes were prevalent! By contrast, when we stayed at a value, we went into Park Commando mode, doing a park or two every single day. It just wasn't as compelling to hang around the value resort as it was the deluxe resort. Luckily there is something for every mood at Disney!

I highly recommend the Beach Club it is a beautiful resort and if you can I would stay there, it is worth it. I would also recommend trying to stay at the BCV by either renting DVC points or trying for a cash reservation. I stayed in the BCV this year and am staying there again on my next trip. Having a kitchen is great and the extra room is wonderful. Plus the location IMHO is the best you can get.

I do have one big warning for you about the Beach Club. If you decide to stay there, you better make sure you can afford it from then on. We stayed there with a land/sea package in April and in June we bought into DVC there because my girls will never want to stay anywhere else on property again. They are hooked on STormalong Bay, we do save on park tickets though as they can spend most of their time at SAB without going to parks. We love it and have been back in our new home in November. Just be prepared to stay there from then on out!
