any clue as to if and when the deluxe hotel TSA baggage drop off, to avoid schlepping our bags to MCO, will return? luckily, all the car rental guys offer to drive us around to curbside when they see im disabled; i tip them nicely, but it isn't a sure thing it will happen every time in the future; let's get those TSA agents back to the resorts!

It's gone. It's not coming back. Thank Bob for that one. Now Disney is like anywhere else. You can schlep your car seats and luggage like any other airport. So magical!
Sadly, I have to agree. As a senior with mobility challenges who frequently travels solo, this is one of the services I miss most.

I recommend upgrading your luggage to something that wheels easily and making the best use of bell services both at the resort and airport. I carry a wallet stuffed with smaller bills specifically for tipping.

The service is gone and won’t be back… I definitely try to pack lighter!

It was all Disney hotels and those were not TSA agents checking in and transporting your bags, they were just employees of a baggage company.

There has been no indication the service will return. I miss it too :(

For me, I would have no problem paying for this service. I know most don't like the thought of that, but I can see paying $5-$10 a bag for the convenience. But that's how I travel, I plan and budget for conveniences. If I can justify paying $12 for a cocktail at the pool bar, I can surely justify $10 to not stand in line at MCO to check in a bag.

It was a 3rd party company who handled the Disney luggage. There has been no indication this service will ever come back.

Have you looked up Bags Inc to see if you can?
They may offer it

Bags offers luggage delivery from the airport to your hotel or home.

Remote checked luggage requires employees who passed necessary screening, a secure place (locked cages) to store and transport luggage. I think one of the outlet malls offered the service.

JMO, if there was sufficient demand for guest paid RAC Dolphin would have offered it.

I'd be willing to pay for the service.

I'm confused as to what you are responding to regarding my post
You said Bags offers luggage delivery
And then something about secured handling.
Remote checked luggage was run by Bags
It's one in the same.
All I suggested was the person who said they'd be willing to pay for it look up Bags Inc to see if they offer the service and what it costs. I was pretty sure they do offer it. Do not know the cost
Not everyone realizes that's who did RAC all along.

Sorry I wasn't clearer. BAGS offers a paid luggage service they'll get your bags at.baggage claim and transport them to your resort, coming and from the airport to your home, returning.

RAC service isn't as simple. Collecting your bags at your resort, tagging them with an.airline luggage tag then trucking luggage to baggage intake at MCO has a lot of requirements. Can't be offered unless you have enough volume to cover overhead.

Yeah, I get that however
Bags Inc was who ran RAC
and
PP said they'd be willing to pay for a service do to what RAC did and basically, you can do that.
With Bags Inc yourself.
Right?
I guess that's my point.
Is it RAC? No. That was a Disneyfied version of what Bags Inc sells to consumers
Does it accomplish the same concept as RAC for a fee? Yeah

No, because Bags doesn't offer service going back to the airport. The logistical issues are such that they have to have buy in from somewhere to offer the service. And there has to be a critical mass of people that are willing to pay to use their service. They may have the customers at Disney resorts, but if Disney isn't interested in helping them with the logistical issues then it can't happen.

Remote Airline Check-in is the term used by Bags, Inc. PP explained the logistics. The service is marketed to cruise lines, convention centers and even airports. Some airports contract with Bags to provide RAC at remote car rental facilities.
