Deluxe Dining Credits

This will be my first time using the deluxe dining plan. I am aware that TS and CS credits are one and the same. When we previously used the basic plan, it was very clear what remaining credits we had per children and per adults because the remaining TS credits were noted on the reciepts and listed as adult or child. But the CS credits were hard to keep up with because they were pooled together. I am confused as to how we can tell how many adult versus child credits remain on the deluxe plan because of the pooling. We plan to split up from time to time, so how will we know if our remaining credits are child or adult? Will we have to keep tabs on that manually?

I'm interested in this too. we have the Deluxe booked for September, but will have 5 A and 1 C. (in a villa)

How do I know how many Child credits I have to use up? I'm thinking Toy Story Pizza Planet for example. Will they take a Child credit away? Or adult? Or both? Are they seperate?

???

You have on each receipt a note that tells you how many adult credits and how many child credits remain. Thay are seperated. You actually get seperate receipts for adults and children. Snack credits are all pooled, each time you use snack credits, your receipt will tell you how many remain. Enjoy the deluxe, we did in April and loved it!! I hope it never changes or goes away. For us it is deluxe everytime!!

Ok, well how am I supposed to handle the situations like the above poster made where there isn't a children's menu yet the meal is for my child? How do I get them to remove a child credit for her rather than an adult credit?

I'm so glad to hear praise about this plan. We just found the basic plan to not be enough variety for us. Plus, we go to Disney often so we are glad to get a nice break for TS meals rather than spending so much time going full force in the parks.

Thanks for posting! So, when we go to TSPP for example, I can order 2 meals and explain that one is A and one is C? That's what I'm concerned about (since we plan everything down to the last credit!!):teacher:

Thanks for your help.:thumbsup2

I'm so excited to try the deluxe, and as the PP said, we do Disney enough that spending time at TS isn't a problem, it is a part of the vacation! Can't wait!

We do the same. And actually, my 9 year old is not going to be very pleased with the CS choices on the kids menu so I will probably be trying to find these places where there isn't a kids menu available so she can have something a bit better.

We actually did not experience this on Deluxe the first week of June. We were 2A and 1 C (and 1 infant) . We were there 6 nights and started the week with 54 meal credits. They were all pooled together and the receipts simply said XX Credits remaining. They were not seperated child and adult. Of course they should not let us order more than 2 adult meals at once since that is what our card stated.. unless there is no children's menu available.

Hmm, I wonder why the difference in experiences? Perhaps they've been working kinks out or something. You know, nothing is every consistant with Disney! lol

Okay..... that's interesting. Does anyone else have different experiences? I just want to be able to stay on top of our credits. Don't want any wasted! :lmao:

Unless you eat breakfast every morning, or do a lot of 2 meal resturants or character meals, you will have left over meals.

The Family of 4 only did 1 2-meal show and had 4 credits when we left.

Made all my reservations except 1, after I arrived, I just stopped by teh concierge and he pulled it up on his computer and booked all but one evening meal and 1 lunch in 15 minutes. for 5 nights.

I should have booked the very popular places ahead of time. But we wanted a wide variety and ate dinner in 3 different countries and at the liberty tree in MK.

PS Planet Hollywood in DTD doesn't take ADR's after 5 pm. We ate there the last evening while shopping, and trying to use up our snack credits.

Best place to burn up snack credits--Goofy's Candy Co., everything in the glass cases is a snack except the Caramel/candy Apples.

My plan so far is to eat 2 scheduled meals a day and then use the additional meal credits for additional meals as needed and for our last day since we are staying until late on the day of our departure. My main concern at this point is keeping up with the child versus adult credits when our party is seperated. I don't want to end up at the end with leftover child credits and not as many adult credits and then have to either lose the child credits entirely or pay OOP for adult meals just to use them. Atleast with snack credits you can always go and get packaged things that will travel home with you. But meal credits really either just get used or lost entirely.

We only ended up having 1 credit left... Here is how I used my DxDDP...

Copied from this thread...

We were in WDW on DxDDP from May 31-June 6.

We are a family of 4... DH, I, and a 3 (nearly 4) year old and a 2 1/2 year old.

We had 54 meal credits and 36 snack credits. We used all of them except one lonely meal credit.

FYI: All 54 credits were pooled with no distinction between child and adult.

We didn't stuff ourselves at the buffets. I ate until I was satisfied though since that is how I normally eat.

We didn't really use our mugs much. Definitely not $13 worth. But we are mostly water drinkers. We didn't spend much time at the resort and the meals we did eat there of course came with drinks.

The only thing we spent out of pocket food wise was some Chili Cheese Fries at Pop Century that I thought I could use a snack credit for and 4 drinks out of a machine at the Stunt Show in DHS because there was no vendors close by and we were all dying! Total was about $11.00 OOP

Tipwise we spent about $170. We generally left 18% at buffets and 20% at true TS.

Most days I did not eat lunch which is why only 2 credits were used. But DH and the kids were hungry. I generally used a snack credit for some fruit or something.

Here was our breakdown:

Day One:
Lunch when arriving: Pop Century (3 credits)
Chef Mickey's Dinner (3 Credits)

Day 2
Crystal Palace Breakfast 8am (3 credits)
Lunch @ Pop Century (2 credits)
Dinner@ Tony's 5pm (3 credits)

Day 3
Breakfast @ Tusker House 9am (3 credits)
Lunch @ Pop Century (2 credits)
Dinner@ WCC 6:30 (3 credits)

Day 4
Breakfast at Ohana's 830am (3 credits)
Dinner @ LeCellier 430pm (3 credits)
Late night Snack for DH & I (1 credit shared)

Day 5
H&V Breakfast @ 9am (3 credits)
Hoop Dee Doo @ 500 (6 credits)

Day 6
Breakfast Pop Century (3 adult credits by accident.. DH didn't understand and they didn't question him.. I was very sick this morning and we cancelled our Kona ADR)
Dinner @ 4:00 Liberty Tree Tavern (3 credits)
Pop Pizza Delivery 10pm (2 credits)

Day 7
Cape May Breakfast (3 credits)
ABC Commissary (4 credits) Bought each of the boys a kids meal and they didn't question us

53 total credits, 1 unused

I could never remember what we spent all those snack credits on, but we used some for drinks... may 6 or 8 of them and then the rest were on true snacks. We typically also bought 4 at a time because you can't really tell and 2 1/2 year he has to share ice cream or something lol. We didn't have any left over to "blow" at the end of the trip.

Deluxe worked well for us. We really wouldn't have changed anything about the trip dining wise. My ADRs were well planned and we never felt rushed anywhere. In fact I was usually early and was still seated promptly.

DH did gain 10 pounds lol literally.. but it is gone now. I think is was water retention. I didn't gain anything FYI! lol
