I really enjoyed your update and especially all your photos of the Backlot Tour. I haven't done the water effect tank and tram portion of the tour in a long time (usually I just make a quick stop to the last room with all the costumes and props by sneaking through the shop ). Maybe this could be something to add to my "next time list".

You should go see it! You will enjoy it, especially if you like movie memoribillia they have a whole warehouse of props you get to walk through!!

I love the backlot tour shots, I don't think I've actually ever seen photos from it on a TR before. Makes me want to make it a must do! And the pixar light...must see, I can just picture how cute he must be.

Where in the world had time gone?? May is almost over, I move at the end of June! I still have no job, no place to live, we haven’t put our house up for rent yet, and I only have 6 boxes packed! AND on top of all of that this weekend Prince P gets ordained! I’m so proud of my husband, he has spent the last 2 years working his way through Seminary and on Sunday night he will be ordained into the pastorate! So I have inlaws, my parents, and Phillip’s best friend all coming into town with a house that is a disaster since I’m planning a garage sale and a bathroom in the midst of being remodeling…okay my head just hurts from typing this entire out! However, I’m surviving! One day at a time, I’m crossing things off my to-do list, and I’m optimistic about the future, so busy life yes, a little uncertainty yes, but no doom and gloom! So let’s update this TR…so here we go!!!!!!

By the time I got The Backlot Tour, Paula had texted me that she was on her way to DHS so I headed to the front to meet up with her! I was so excited to meet her; we had been planning this trip since January so it was finally great to be there with her! We met up by Bo put her stuff in her locker and then decided to head down Sunset Blvd. in hopes of scoring some FP and maybe ride a ride before dinner! I do believe we got some RnRC FP and then decided to ride TOT standby! Now if you have ever read any of my TRs you know that I enjoy this ride, but not so much the getting on the ride part. I literally pray every single time I enter the possessed hotel that I will exit it. So I begin to mentally prepare myself for this ride as Paula and I really take in the décor and take a few shots of the inside of the hotel.

You all know how my heart would burst with joy if they ever let me loose in the Haunted Mansion, well 2nd choice would definitely be TOT! What great attention to detail. Finally it’s our turn to enter the library and see the preshow! I enjoy this room, I love to find the shout outs to the Twilight Zone and I just get so engrossed. So I was an easy target, because as soon as the lights went out and the lightning struck, Paula scares the crud out me. I don’t mean Jen jumps slightly and gets goose bumps, more like I scream like I’m in a horror movie and I jump about a mile high, my heart was racing and I might have stopped breathing for a moment, it was classic, well at least for everyone else in the room who had a good laugh over it! I started praying again. LOL!

Well the good news is we survived! We absolutely loved our picture so we bought a copy of it. (I will try to take a picture of the picture so you can see it LOL) and then it was time to head over for lunch! Where were we eating you ask? We decided to try Mama Melrose’s!! We checked in, found a seat, and very shortly we were taken into the dining room seated and ready to eat. If you recall on this trip both Paula and I were on the deluxe dining plan so we had a lot of food to eat. The waitress brought us warm rolls to begin our meal, I am a huge fan of bread so I had to have one immediately! They were great and I enjoyed the olive oil given us to dip the bread in!

We both started with a wonderful mixed greens salad that had a very light dressing! The best part for me was the nuts in the salad, I love that in a salad!

For our entrées I had the Chicken Pipette - wood-grilled chicken tossed with Pipette pasta with artichokes, peas, roasted red peppers in a basil and four cheese cream sauce!

AAAHHHHHMAZING!! It was so good!! I loved it!!!

Paula decided to have the Grilled Pepperoni Flatbread with bell peppers and sweet onions!

Paula had no complaints on this dish!!

Of course with Deluxe dining you get to have dessert! Well I was stuffed by this time…so I decided to try something a little lighter! The Crema Limone - no sugar added lemon custard topped with fresh whipped cream and berries!

Yes that is a candle you see!! The first of many birthday desserts! This was so light and the fruit was fresh! I really enjoyed this dish!!

Paula had known for months what she wanted to get Honey Hazelnut and Ricotta Cheesecake!

Another hit! This was very rich but very good!!!

After lunch it we decided to see Beauty and the Beast! So we headed in that direction!!

I made sure to stop and pull the rope LOL!! I may have pulled it like 5 times LOL!

We made our way to the Beauty and the Beast theater and found ourselves some pretty good seats!! AND NOW…for your visual pleasure…this Trip Report proudly presents…THE SHOW…

VIOLA!! Did you enjoy the show as much as I did!!!!

So after the show we decided to do a first for me and headed over the Animation Studio so I could become a Disney artist!!

We had fun trying to guess the drawings in the waiting area and finally we were allowed in! It is very cool inside, we quickly found seats and were ready to get started! Today’s character…Jiminy Cricket!

This was so much fun and I look forward to the opportunity to do it again!!! The rest of the afternoon was pretty much just strolling around DHS doing whatever we wanted!!

Next Time: So how do you get to your car when the trams stop running???

We are going to Mama Melrose in September. I can't wait based on the pics you posted and your review!! We have been there twice but we were on the backstage magic tour and the menu is fixed.

I love BatB. It is my absolute favorite show! I see that they had a different Belle in your pictures. I have not seen her before. I can't wait to get back there and see that show!

I must admit that I've never ridden TOT! Yeah, I am a big giant chicken and just can't get myself to do it.

That was a fun update! I have never seen the B & B show, only Mama Melrose! Which I agree is a good meal I definitely enjoyed it when we had dinner there! I really liked their calamari. I had that ricotta cheese cake too! Very nice! Oh and personally, I think you can get away with this spelling: WA LA.

WOW. It sounds like things are insanely busy for you right now. I can't imagine. Tell your husband congratulations--that is so exciting! And I'll say a quick prayer for you right now that you'll be able to get everything finished and Austin stuff worked out by the time you leave. And with the least amount of stress possible. I know that it must seem SO overwhelming. But remember who's in charge.


Your updates are fantastic! I feel the same way about DHS. My family only spent half-days in DHS since we always had little kids with us. So I thought that it was the worst park by far. But now it's our absolute favorite!

You got some really great shots at the GMR. And I'm sure you were SUPER excited to meet up with Paula! Your lunch looks AMAZING! I just love Italian food.

I laughed when I read about Paula scaring you--I'm sure it was hard for the CMs to keep a straight face! And your Beauty & the Beast pictures are wonderful! We had the same Belle/Gaston combo during our first show. They were sooooo good! And your Animation Academy pics are SO good! I can't believe I'd never heard of it before...
