Deluxe Digs, Delish Dining, & DISers:A Perfectly Pampered Trip for 2(Upt:8/12 pg.42)

I love the Hidden Magic of WDW! I bought it before my June trip and I brought it with me too. I highly recommend it to every Disney fanatic.

A net full of jell-o! :rotfl: Love it. I love all the Muppets gags, and all what is written on the boxes, such as the one you posted "1 Log - one size fits all"

I love all the DHS details, I've never seen that fire hydrant! Very cool. And now I want that book....

I think I'll be remembering that Christmas corner for a future Christmas card picture....! I love the shot you have with the snowman on the left.

I just got the Hidden Magic book about two weeks ago. If I had bought it BEFORE my trip, I would have had so many more things to look for. I am really enjoying reading it as I get to eacg section of my TR. I will definately make a list of things to look for before my May trip! There is so much I missed just in the ToT alone!

I am looking forward to it -- gotta love Barnes and Noble and their three-day free shipping.

Yes and then you have the excuse to buy at least $25 dollars worth...:cool1:

Jen...love the muppets...missed the show this time...but caught it last time...saw the fountain and courtyard though...:thumbsup2...you're right the detailing is great...hmm...I don't know if as many kids know the muppets as used to...:confused3....I'm going to have to rent some of the movies...I remember the Christmas Carol being very funny...

Hmmm...my dates for October 2010 are currently the 6th-11th...

Any particular reason you are asking...;)

Ladies I just found your TR and is is fabulous! I love all the pictures and the humor. :lovestruc

Jen - I hope you don't mind me asking, but how did you switch to drinking only water? Did you reduce other beverages gradually or was it a cold turkey kind of thing? Your success is very inspirational to me. 30 pounds is amazing - keep up the great work! :goodvibes

I just got a box from Amazon (actually 2 boxes, but I hid them real quick so the hub wouldn't see...:rolleyes1) and it had Mousejunkies! and Hidden Magic in it. Now, which one to read first??

Thanks!!!! It was a very gradual I reduced my caffeine intake each day until it was none...then I went to all water!!!

I started drinking water only when I was a little bit on the poor side raising three kids alone.

Okay, a lotta bit on the poor side.

Either way, I went to water and never returned, even when I crossed over more to the normal side. I drink diet drinks occasionally with a pizza, and I drink milk occasionally with something sweet like a brownie, but those are pretty rare occasions. So rare that my kids make some kind of remark about it when I do. You can taste your food better with water, I think, so drinking a soda with a regular meal doesn't even sound good to me any more.

So, it's good for your health and good for your budget. :)

Wow--What fantastic pictures, Jen! I love that you took time to just enjoy walking around and taking pictures on your first morning. What great details, huh?! :goodvibes What a perfect way to start your trip--relaxing and taking it all in! I can't wait for more ;)

Staci!!!!! I really did enjoy just not having a itinerary of things I had to hit up that morning I just walked and walked and explored to my heart's content...very very fun!!!!!!

OK, I'm going to have to look into getting that book!

YES you are Anita...its a fantastic book!! You and your crew would love it!!!!

Now that's a great idea Brook...I never thought of that!! How cool would it be for your Christmas card picture to be from there at WDW...awesome!!!!

Yes you must have that book...great stuff in there!!!

Can't wait for more updates. Just found your TR.

AWWW WELCOME WELCOME :cool1: The plan is to update later today...been a very crazy week!!!

I just got the Hidden Magic book about two weeks ago. If I had bought it BEFORE my trip, I would have had so many more things to look for. I know its amazing what little details people have found. I'm going to reread it and listen to Lou Mongello's walk around tours of different places in Magic Kingdom and make a list of things I want to make sure I check out!!!!!!

Yes and then you have the excuse to buy at least $25 dollars worth...:cool1:

Yes there is a particular reason I was asking LOL...however I think I might miss you by a few days which just makes me ache inside...UGH...just like with MEK this last year I missed her by what...a measly 2 days UGGHHH!!!!!

I just got a box from Amazon (actually 2 boxes, but I hid them real quick so the hub wouldn't see...:rolleyes1) and it had Mousejunkies! and Hidden Magic in it. Now, which one to read first??

Definitely The Hidden Magic of Disney LOL!!!!!!

I started drinking water only when I was a little bit on the poor side raising three kids alone.

It definitely is...I have been craving soda this week and I can tell a difference in how I feel, I feel so much yuckier! So its off soda again and back to just water...because I don't like feeling that way!!!!!

Alright well I'm almost finished with my next update. Between the chaos of Ida, some dental issues, and some things at work it was an INSANE week!! However just wanted to thank you for your patience and an udpate will be coming very very soon!!!!! Hopefully this afternoon between church services.

Chapter 5: Some Very Special Dis Meets

OY has it been a busy week!!! Between tropical storms, no school, dentist visit, getting ready for the parents to come for Thanksgiving, definitely a week with one thing right after another LOL!!!!! Well let’s not dwaddle and get right into the good stuff.

So far the morning at DHS could be described as relaxing. I was in no rush to get anywhere and I took time to just explore and appreciate the little details that really make the Disney magic. After exploring the Streets of America, I realized my FP window was open and decided to go get an extra FP in case after C and I rode I wanted to do an extra turn around I could. So it was back to Pixar Place.

Day1Photos065.jpg

I grabbed my FP and then I received a text on my phone…who could it be from??? Well it was from Staci (stacikristine) she and her hubby Michael were spending their last day in one of their favorite parks. I was very nervous but very excited to meet her!! I waited over by TSM and people watched for her I was pretty sure I had spotted her, but wasn’t sure at first, but sure enough she came walking back with Michael and we said hello!! She is just as delightful in person as she is on the boards. I was so glad I was able to chat with them. They told me a little bit about their trip and how much fun they had!! I could tell their trip had been amazing and I really couldn’t wait to read all about it in her TR!!!! Michael was kind enough to take a picture for us!!! I really like this pic!!

Day1Photos066.jpg

Well since it was their last day and my first we both had much on our lists to do so we said our goodbyes and I headed towards one of my most favorite rides in all of DHS. The Great Movie Ride, it was finally open and I was ready to enter the movies. No matter how many times I ride this ride it NEVER gets old to me. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!! So sit back and enjoy our trip through the movies with me…

Day1Photos068.jpg

Day1Photos069.jpg

Darn Gangster version AGAIN!! I so want to see the Western side….maybe next trip!!!! I love how the date on the license plate of the gangster car refers to the date of the Valentine’s Massacre…once again its all about the little details that really make Disney for me.

Day1Photos073.jpg

WOE to GMR and my inability to ever ride the western vehicle!!! Some day I will see it again!!!

Day1Photos077.jpg

First ever somewhat decent photo on the Indy scene!! I have been trying over and over again to get a good shot in here!!! This might be the best I ever get LOL!!!

Day1Photos078.jpg

Day1Photos089.jpg

Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore!! If I could get a dollar for every time someone has said that to this Kansan girl I would be rich LOL!!!!

Awww…I just love that ride!! The clock was ticking closer and closer to lunchtime which meant I would be meeting up with C soon so I decided I didn’t want to be in a line for a ride if she texted so I went to go get my photo taken with Mickey and see what other characters were in the Magic of Animation area.

Day1Photos094.jpg

I love Sorcerer Mickey!!! So much fun!! The only other characters were the ones for UP and the line was really long and while waiting for Mickey I received a text from C that she was in DHS and we were going to meet outside the Animation Studio!!! AWWW I loved meeting C, her smile can brighten any room (or any courtyard) and it was already sunny outside and as C mentioned in her report…it was HOT that day!!! I told C that I had FPs for TSM and asked if she would like to head to some AC and ride the ride!!! She was all for it so it was off to TSM!!!! I was having too much fun just chatting away with C asking her all types of questions about her trip I didn’t take any photos of us in TSM…but I did end up with a shot of the score, because I like to record my high scores on this ride.

Day1Photos096.jpg

I’m not going to tell you whose score is whose, but much fun was had and we both walked out with sore arms LOL!!!!! It was still a little before our ADR at Sci Fi so we hopped into One Man’s Dream!! I can tell you know that both C and I enjoy the history of Walt Disney. We both really enjoyed walking around and exploring the memorabilia. If you would like to see an amazing shot of Walt’s office, check out her TR she took some great photos. It’s always fun to see what shots you take when you are with someone else and what photos they take, so here are some of the ones I took inside.

Day1Photos103.jpg

One of Walt’s desks.

Day1Photos108.jpg

Mary Poppins’ dress taken in honor of Leslie!!!

Day1Photos109.jpg

Day1Photos110.jpg

Day1Photos111.jpg

Then we were just in time to watch the movie on Walt which I always enjoy!!! After the movie C and I decided we would see if we could check in early for our lunch ADR at Sci Fi!!! This was one of the stops on C’s Cheeseburgers in Paradise tour and it was one the places I wanted to see, I had heard great things about the atmosphere here.

Day1Photos112.jpg

Day1Photos113.jpg

When we walked inside the first thing we did was ask if we could check in early and if so how long the wait would be…well we were told that was fine and it would be about 20 minutes, which both C and I were fine with. It turned out to actually be about 45 minutes and neither one of us was impressed with their check in system. Both C and I agreed we would have much rather gone and done a ride if we knew the wait would have been that long. It was also interesting to note how many people were turned away here trying to get a walk in. I think by the time we were called I had counted up to 10 families who had tried to get a table for lunch. So after all of that C and I were seated only about 15 minutes earlier than our original ADR time, which would end up being a good thing with how slow the service would end up being. All that being said, the atmosphere is great…I was really in awe of the setup they have there, very cute!!!

Day1Photos114.jpg

Day1Photos115.jpg

Day1Photos116.jpg

Our first indication of the type of service we would be getting was how long it took for our drinks to arrive. C ordered the magical cocktail with a very cute star shaped glow cube and I ordered water, in my attempt to keep myself hydrated. Being on the deluxe plan meant I could get an appetizer so after consulting with C and letting her know that I would absolutely be sharing because no way I was going to be able to eat all that food…I ordered the onion rings…these were very very good!!

Day1Photos117.jpg

What to have as my entrée was a very easy choice…the cheeseburger!!! I had heard great things about the burgers here and this did not disappoint. The burger was good and the fries…were amazing!! I really enjoyed the fries, of course at this point it had been almost 3 months since I had allowed myself to have fries, so I might have been influenced by that.

Day1Photos119.jpg

By the time dessert rolled around it was getting close to the time C would have to end over to her tequila testing!! I was very full but as my first place to use my credits I wasn’t going to skip dessert so I got the chocolate peanut butter cake with vanilla ice cream!!! This was very good, but very rich!! Thankfully C helped me eat part of it because no way I was going to finish it.

Day1Photos120.jpg

Finally after getting our bill squared away and watching the situation unfold for the family in front of us, who by the time we were done eating had still not gotten their food, we were ready to head out. I did enjoy the food and the atmosphere, but I’m in no hurry to return to Sci Fi because of the overall service. It will be awhile before I’m back there again!!! Because of the time C had to book it over to her tequila tasting, we made plans to meet up at 5pm in America at EPCOT and off she went.

I was about ready for a break and I had received a text that my room was ready for me so I decided to use my fastpass and hit up TSM one more time before heading back to SSR to freshen up for the evening. I beat my score from earlier in the day and scored my highest score EVER!!!

Day1Photos126.jpg

Then I headed out of the park. I made sure to stop and say hi to…

Day1Photos133.jpg

Then it was back to SSR!!!!

Coming Up Next: Yes, that makes 4 DIS meets in one day and I’ll have some Tartar Sauce with my Fish and Chips!!!!

Fabulous update! :goodvibes

I love your outfit on this day, you look so cute with Mickey.

Those onion rings from Sci Fi look so YUMMY. I really want onion rings now. YUM.

I'm sorry about your s l o w meal at Sci Fi!

Oh and you just have to ride The Great Movie Ride with me in order to get the Cowboy! ;)

:cool1: YAY an update finally! :yay: Sorry you had such a crazy busy week! Hope your mouth is feeling better soon! LOVE LOVE LOVE  the pics - you are a great photographer! :thumbsup2 Glad at least that the food at Sci Fi was good! We are going to brave the rumours and eat here on our trip! popcorn:: Ken is already craving that Peanut Butter cake dessert! :rolleyes1

Love it! Can't wait for more! :goodvibes

Ooooooh, it's so much fun to read about a TR when I was actually there! :yay: You took some fantastic photos, as always. I never knew the license plate in GMR referred to the Valentine's Day massacre. Cool detail. I usually get the gangster scene too. I know you love this ride -- are you in the camp of wanting it to be updated a bit or would you prefer it stay as it is?

Lunch was so fun with you despite the wait. I felt like we just fell into regular conversation and you'd never know we just officially met. Of course there were a few thousand DIS board posts to get to know eachother.

Great last score on TSM.

I can't wait to see and hear about your room at SSR!! :thumbsup2

Great update!!!!!!!!! That is a very cute picture of you and Staci. Huge bummer about lunch taking so long, that's frustrating and can make it hard to enjoy if you start to feel like you are losing park time. I'm glad you enjoyed the food, that's something at least. 2 DISmeets by lunch, very cool :thumbsup2

Great update Jen! I must say, your scores on TSMM put mine to shame! I'm just not that good at it, but it's so much fun!!! That dessert at Sci-Fi is divine and the picture made my mouth water. Love all of you pics and I can't wait for more! :goodvibes

Sounds like you had a great day at DHS! You look so cute with Sorcerer Mickey! He's my fav!!!

Like I said in Christine's TR, your SciFi experience sound very familiar. Stay tuned on my TR...

Can't wait to here about your stay at SSR!!

Slow service in a theme park restaurant is not good but I'm glad your food was!

Do we all take pictures of Bo now?? :lmao:

I love this update...everything in it...:goodvibes

I love the Great Movie Ride too...(I can't believe that anyone wold ever talk about getting rid of it...:confused3...update maybe but not get rid of...

TSM is one of my new faves...:thumbsup2

Love looking at all of Walt's stuff and the old costumes...gives me the chills...in a good way...

I am sorry about Sci Fi...I've always had good service there...makes a huge difference...glad you food was good though...:thumbsup2

Love that C loves reading the TR because she was there...:lmao:that made me laugh...:goodvibes

BTW...notice anything unusual in the following photo...
